I have already as I keep getting ill mainly gastro and kidney pain? I dont know if this is due to celiac I have been blood tested which was negative but everyone on my dads side seems to have it and my daughter...
  2. This may sound like a silly question but when my partner asked if it was normal he got me thinking. all of my life I have never been able to fully extend my jaw without it clicking. This may be normal. However, just recently my left side of my hip clicks when I walk not all of the time but quite frequently. I also have problems with my right shoulder...
  3. Thanks for all of your advice. When we first went gluten free with her we were very catious about how we handled her food. She got so much better and started to shoot up. Unfortunately it seems that she has stopped growing again I hope that isn't because I was getting too complacent. A mothers guilt is the worst kind.
  4. I also would like to know if you can get a reaction to shampoo if you don't ingest it? I haven't used any with her im just curious. thanks.
  5. Something else I have always wondered is how the gene in my daughter was switched on. I am sure it was due to her 4 month vaccinations can this be the case? Even though she had not been exposed purposly to gluten. She seemed to stop drinking her bottles and wanted to sleep all of the time. I went to the doc and he said reactions to vaccination only lasted...
  6. Hi just wanted to know if this is causing my daughter harm. Just recently I have been trying her with food that may contain traces of gluten. She shows no signs of a gut reaction but gets what looks like dribble rash on her chin. If it isnt causing gut reactions is it safe? she is 16 months old and what I call a diet diagnosed celiac. She has all the symptoms...
  7. Just noticed over the last few months that my body temerature is always at least 1/2 a degree higher than everyone else in my family. I am always reading between 37 and 37.5 degrees (99-99.5) is this due to gluten intollerance?
  8. My doc says that the endomysial antibody test is more accurate than the other blood tests for detecting celiac disease because it shows up villi damage in blood. If all of my tests inc this one were negative is it worth me going down the endoscopy path?
  9. Ok so here it is. I have a child 15 mths who has been gluten free for most of her life due to great dietary response. So what has this got to do with me? Well for about 2 months now I have had some very interestin non specific symptoms. They start last from 3 to 5 days and then go away only to return a week or two later. The first started as a bloated...
  10. Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows can you be gluten intollerant and still have malabsorption? The reason I ask this is that my daughter has been off of gluten for six months (most of her life as she is only 15 months. She had the tests that were negative ( I have heard that they would be anyway because of her age.) Ever since putting her on a gluten...
  11. Hi all I hope you can help me piece the puzzle together. My daughter is 14 months old and has been gluten intollerant most of her short life. Through an elimination diet we found out really quickly. Since then however we have been trying to find out where in the genes she has inherited it. At first thought we thought it was mt husbands mother who has been...
  12. My daughter is twelve months old and has been gluten free for around three months. During the early days when she was being glutened every day she had a lot of external symptoms i.e eczema, skin rashes wierd looking and smelling poop etc. Now though when she is glutened in some way she only seems to have mild symptoms even the poop is SEMI normal? does this...
  13. Hi all, I have a 12 month old daughter with gluten intollerance (no diagnosis remarkable dietary response) She has a lot of celiac symptoms including weight loss, irritability a DH like rash and atopic eczema. At 12 months I tried to slowly introduce dairy and she got diarrhoea and after two days she vomited. We thought since hearing that most celiacs are...
  14. Thankyou for answering my question about the rash. I have a 12 month old daughter who like your son has experienced some very interesting rashes. From about seven months of age my daughter has had problems with her bowels she got loose poos and was very irritable. This was around the time we introduced little amounts of bread...
  15. Hi my daughter gets that red itchy rash on her body too. Can you please tell me does it look a bit like chickenpox?
  16. Hi all, I hope someone can help me. My child is gluten intollerant with all the signs of celiacs(including DH). She hasn't been formally tested as she is just 12 mths old. I have heard somewhere that celiacs are often also lactose intollerant. I have also heard that celiacs can also sometimes tolerate yoghurt because it has a and b cultures in it and this...
  17. Thanks for all your advice. She has been gluten free for about six weeks now and every trace of eczema has gone. We did have a flare a few weeks ago when someone gave her a pureed apple with a wheat based thickener in it. It was the only thing she had that was different in her diet for a few weeks so we were pretty sure it was that. This also came with irritability...
  18. we think it might be dermititis herpetiformis it hasn't been diagnosed. Thought Id clear that up
  19. Hello again, Just wondering if anyone else has children that suffer with atopic eczema but do not have any other allergies. We went to the allergy specialist with our daughter of ten months today. He tested for wheat rye barley and they all came back negative (which i suspected anyway with the research That I have done into celiac disease) He also said that...
  20. Thanks for clearing that up for me I will try her with some.
  21. Does anyone know whether cheese is gluten free? She is fine with dairy products and eats gluten free yoghurt I would like to try her with a piece of cheese.
  22. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone knows if testing for the DQ2 and DQ8 celiac genes is expensive. We live in Australia and rely on medicare as we don't have private health insurance. My daughter has been on a gluten free diet for five weeks and any evidence of eczema has gone, she is gaining weight and is happier. I want to find out if she has the genes as...
  23. You might be confused with what I just did ignore it I think I pressed the wrong button. I will certainly let you know if she gets it again and we find out what it is. That may not happen though because we have already started a gluten free diet.
