  1. Can you learn to like smoothies with a protein powder (gluten free, of coures)? A good way to get your vitamins, fruit, fiber, and avoid grains.
  2. I haven't heard anything on here about a support group in Virginia? I am in Hampton Roads (Virginia Beach to be specific). I work in a central area and would be happy to host one? Just response or email me at hope.therapy@gmail.com. Thanks!
  3. A response on the numbers..... THANK YOU!!!

    ARCHIVED Quotes

What is the quoting system? How does something get quoted? Is that the same as something getting moved? What is the purpose? I'm trying to catch on here....
  5. I am totally confused. Why move people's stuff around? I'm having a hard enough time figuring out of people are responding to things? Also... it is confusing where a thread begins and ends. I'm not an internet expert or anything.... but I"m usually not so confused?
  6. Posted them as a reply to my original message. Will you take a look?
  7. Thansk for asking! Would love your input... 10. Many requested that I post my results. If you were one of them, can you please help me read these? Here's a copy of the post I put in test results / pre-diagnosis, Am I reading this right? ______________________________________________________________________________ I got some tests run from a local lab. 11. I posted them under the pre-diagnosis and testing section. Would certainly appreciate your feedback!
  12. Just to clarify, I have reason to think that the doctor that ordered the test overdiagnoses gluten senstivity as a "fad" diagnosis. In addition, the two other doctors weren't specialized in this but friends that I sought out. And, no, I don't have significant symptoms compared to other people on this board AT ALL.... Thank you for your input!
  13. I relate to the dull continuous discomfort in your stomach.... That has been on and off with me forever.... just starting to realize what it is.
  14. I got some tests run from a local lab. The doctor that ordered them hasn't explained a darn thing and just told me to do the gluten diet. But I think these tests are negative, so why do the diet (I am anyway). I have two doctor friends that told me to do the diet too... but I can't understand their rationale from these tests? Where are the antibodies...
  15. I am experiencing "week 3" symptoms (purging) as mentioned in one of the answer posts. So, my experience validates that theory! I started experiencing worse digestive symptoms (my primary symptom was bloat and onstipation too), and all the sudden it really did feel like my body was cleaning itself out!
  16. I've done a ton of research on the tests, and they all have plenty of room for error (false negatives), which it sounds like your doctor has mentioned. The only fool proof and 100% accurate test is to try the gulten free diet for changes in your body. Don't know why your docs feel the need to call that a "self-diagnosis." Guess they have to cover their...
  17. GOOD POINT! Can you specify some of the products you're talking about? Breads? Cereals? Or are you talking pre-packaged meals or something?
  18. Need doctor recommendations in St. Louis, MO for mother and brother with likely gluten and/or celiac disease. Help?

    ARCHIVED Fiber?

I love "puffins" a wheat free cereal that has peanute butter and cinnamon flavors. I also found some great gluten free granola that I put in yogurt. Not as good as veggies for fiber, but good nonetheless. You can also take fiber supplements.
  20. With regard to being overweight wtih gluten senstivity, I have had a hard time accepting that I could be a "bigger girl" and have a gluten sensitivity. After all, "aren't people wtih this allergy supposed to be underweight?" I would tell myself. The more I read, it seems that many, many people have been chronically bloated and HELD ONTO food b/c of SLOW...

  22. If it were me, I would do the gluten free diet correctly for a few weeks and see if you find positive results. That or seek out your own tests from a lab. However, start with the obvious... go to a sleep lab if this continues?
  23. I am a therapist and work under an MD who is very advanced (in my opinion) in connected the types of problems you're mentioning with celiac and gluten. However, I think that EVERYONE can benefit from professionally trained help to talk about "stressors," and my experience has been that talk therapy can unlock some hidden issues that may indeed affect our...
  24. Hello, I am a 28y.o. F on the East Coast. I am a mental health therapist working under an MD that seems aware of the link between gluten sensitivity/celiac and mental/emotional conditions. He was the one who ordered tests for me when I kept complaining of "lack of energy" and "focus problems." I have recently received a positive result on the gene test...
  25. There is also a place called "BoneFish Grill" in Va Beach.... too late for the marathoner, though.
