  1. Thanks for visiting our web site. We understand how important it is for people who have been medically diagnosed with gluten sensitivity to have accurate information about foods to help plan their meals and diets. Therefore, it has been a long standing policy for all Kraft and Nabisco products to list items that contain gluten on the package...
  2. They sent an additional e-mail stating: "In addition, we would like to assure you that most of the ingredients in our products are derived from palm oils or are synthetically derived." Does that mean they're okay? Or does that mean anything at all?
  3. Thank you for contacting us. Our company purchases raw ingredients from different distributors. Because of this we can not rule out the presence of gluten/wheat in our products. We apologize that we could be more assistance at this time. If you have any further questions please call 1-800-382-7833, Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 8:...
  4. Thank you for contacting us. Aussie obtains its ingredients from different suppliers therefore, we cannot guarantee that their raw material are free of wheat products. Since we are unable to guarantee that there's no wheat in our products. We would advise a consumer that is allergic to wheat unfortunately, not to use our products. If you have any...
  5. I find it sad that so many companies are not willing to find out more about their products and hide behind the "We purchase ingredients from various vendors" line. At least, we can know. I like how Suave lists the potential allergens next to the ingredient that may contain gluten...at least a few companies try to help.
  6. We appreciate your interest in our products. We cannot guarantee that any of our products are gluten free. Gluten comes from plant sources. We purchase ingredients from various vendors. Our vendors can change the origin for each ingredient at any time and without our knowledge. Cordially, Sharon
  7. "No current Crest products contain gluten."
  8. This is a copy of the e-mail sent to me from the makers of Suave products: Hi, Thanks for writing! We do not specifically test our products for the presence of gluten, a sticky protein found in some grains such as wheat. Gluten may be present in products that contain derivatives of wheat, oat, rye, and barley. In labeling our products, our company...
  9. I guess that this is the best place to post this request. I'm looking for any recipes that you enjoy making for yourself or for your families or even your friends. There's not a recipe that I'm looking for in particular, just ones that you like as CDers. Thanks!

  11. If there is anything harder than finding a restaurant that has something that both tastes great and is alright for those of us who can't eat gluten, I don't know what it is. Luckily I have a friend who is the owner of several Kokiyo Teriyaki restaurants in the Portland Oregon area...and he has informed me that his wonderful, delicious teriyaki is gluten...
  12. Jacque, Would you care to share your cornbread recipe? I'm still searching for good recipes of nearly any sort. I'd love it if you'd be willing to share. Brandy

    ARCHIVED Cbs News Report

It seems to me that everywhere that I go, people are more than happy to help if they can. I'm always a bit shy about asking for a burger without a bun (thank goodness for an outgoing and supportive husband), but when it's mentioned that I have celiac disease people ask questions and want to know more. I've never had a single negative response, well.....
  14. My post will do nothing to help out this discussion...but does anyone have good bread recipes to share. I've tried a few Bette Hagman recipes that are much better than the crap they sell in the stores...but does anyone have any better/different suggestions? Thanks! fil
  15. I was trying to do some research to attempt to help you with those blood values, but I can't find a reference for the actual values. I'm sure that you've probably gotten your results by now, and I wish you the best of luck. fil
  16. Dear Maria, I'm the head technician at a veterinary hospital, and though that normally wouldn't be important in a site like this...I DO have a point. We recently started getting some vitamins and probiotics that we order from a company called Natures Life. Natures life is great about listing any potential allergens that can be in each of their supplements...
  17. I'm trying a gluten-free body wash and some thick gluten-free lotion with aloe to make myself feel better. I've only started about 24 hours ago, so I'll have to give it time to see if it works. I appreciate the great advice though!
  18. Ugh I feel like a moron. I've been sure to check every single thing that I've eaten, but it hadn't occured to me to check the things I'm using externally. After reading the helpful posts of everyone on here, I checked what I'd been using...and I'll be darned, it was right there "wheat germ." This stuff I bought to stop my itching has been making...
  19. I just started using the forums on this site, and I have to say that I really appreciate the support that everyone gives to the other people on this site. I'm beginning to feel as though I'm not so alone, and you guys are giving me great advice on how to cope with things. I really appreciate it. Thanks, filititi
  20. I really appreciate all of your help. You guys are great! I'll check into my soaps and lotions. And I plan on seeing a dermatologist when I have insurance again (less than a month). Thanks a bunch!
  21. I'm really proud of all of you. You all seem so cheerful and brave. I'm 26, and I was diagnosed last March after being sick for as long as I can remember. I don't feel as cheerful and brave as all of you sound. I've been gluten-free since April, and I still feel horrid a lot of the time. I feel lost and alone more often than not (I suppose that's the...
  22. This was my first Christmas as well. I work at a veterinary hospital, and we got tons of cookies and such from clients and clinics that we refer people to. It was so hard. My co-workers try to help, and I greatly appreciate their support. I have to admit that I'm often tempted to "cheat" though I regret it very shortly afterwards. This has been...
  23. I've been having some major issues, and they may very well not be related to my celiac disease at all...I'm reaching. I have major amounts of itching, and nothing seems to help for much time at all. I itch so much that I'm tearing up my skin. I don't know anything about DH, and I doubt that it's my problem since I'm reading about blisters and such...
