    I'm sorry to hear that your mother died at a young age of celiac related cancer & that you lost a brother; and that you went undiagnosed with celiac for so many years; I really wish doctors were better educated on celiac disease; it seems that most doctors know very little about the disease. They're so ignorant; its unbelievable.

    The story about your husband's misdiagnosis for all those years just further infuriates me. I wish there was something we could do to hold incompetent doctors accountable, but, unfortunately, medical malpractice laws are practically written to protect these incompetent bozzos. Sorry if I sound bitter but its just so frustrating to hear these types of stories...

    You hit the nail on the head when you called my doctors arrogant and stupid. Thats precisely what they are. I did go on a gluten-free diet and started to feel a lot better within a month, but lately I haven't been careful with my diet. I think there's definitely some gluten getting into my diet. Maybe I need to go back to being really strict with my diet...

    Hi Joni, I've had low iron stores for many years and my doctors kept telling me it was of no clinical significance. Then my hair started to shed really bad; actually, it was falling out in big clumps so I went to a dermatologist who tested my iron stores; this was 8 years ago & my ferritin levels were 15, which she said were some of the lowest levels...
