  1. I'm sorry to hear that your mother died at a young age of celiac related cancer & that you lost a brother; and that you went undiagnosed with celiac for so many years; I really wish doctors were better educated on celiac disease; it seems that most doctors know very little about the disease. They're so ignorant; its unbelievable.
  2. Hi, Thanks for your reply. I agree that inflammation from celiac can appear anywhere in the body; in fact, I read in a scientific journal recently that many celiac patients experience inflammation of the antrum, which is the same part of the stomach that is inflammed on me. I really think my doctor did the biopsy too prematurely. I was on a gluten...
  3. Hi, I had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, and series of small intestine biopsies yesterday at Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center in Boston; besides the fact that the doctor doing the procedure was a total jerk with a rotten bedside manner and a very abrasive personality, the procedure went well; I did feel it though; I thought I'd be more knocked out than...
  4. The story about your husband's misdiagnosis for all those years just further infuriates me. I wish there was something we could do to hold incompetent doctors accountable, but, unfortunately, medical malpractice laws are practically written to protect these incompetent bozzos. Sorry if I sound bitter but its just so frustrating to hear these types of stories...
  5. You hit the nail on the head when you called my doctors arrogant and stupid. Thats precisely what they are. I did go on a gluten-free diet and started to feel a lot better within a month, but lately I haven't been careful with my diet. I think there's definitely some gluten getting into my diet. Maybe I need to go back to being really strict with my diet...
  6. I'm so irritated right now that I'm having a hard time putting my thoughts into words without feeling a lot of rage, so I'm going to keep this email intentionally short. To make a very long story short, I've been experiencing chronic GI problems for over 15 years only to be told by doctors in my area that its all in my head and that I have anxiety disorder...
  7. Hi Susie, Thanks for the reply. I agree that doctors can be terribly misinformed and ignorant. I can't even begin to tell you how unprofessional they were towards me. It got to the point where they were verbally abusive because they couldn't figure out what was going on & neither did they try very hard. It gives me some hope to know that...
  8. Hi Joni, I've had low iron stores for many years and my doctors kept telling me it was of no clinical significance. Then my hair started to shed really bad; actually, it was falling out in big clumps so I went to a dermatologist who tested my iron stores; this was 8 years ago & my ferritin levels were 15, which she said were some of the lowest levels...
  9. Hi, I agree that the dietician is probably really on to something; its a shame that I've been sick for the last 15 years - from my early 20s - and doctors kept dismissing my symptoms as anxiety. They were incredibly rude and bordering on abusive in their treatment of me because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with me, and neither did they try...
  10. Hi, I've felt very ill for years (like 15 years) only to be told by incompetent doctors that its all in my head; my symptoms have included bad bad insomnia, anxiety, weird feelings in my extremities, headaches, constipation, abdominal pain and bloating, weight gain, pain in the upper right quadrant of the abdomen, severe indigestion, nauseau, unrelenting...
