  1. My son Noah is on a Gluten free/Casein Free Diet and has been for a year, he is doing pretty good with it. But I have yet to get any kind of diagnosis or acknowledgement of this from any doctor. We just moved and Noah's first Dr. appt. with his new doctor here is next week, and I am a nervous wreck about it. I have all of these things that I want to talk...
  2. well... we are still struggling here!! and I think I am going to go nuts with all the poopy pants. It occurred to me the other day though that since I have been here I have been trying a lot of new foods... all that are gluten free/ dairy free. But there is a new store down the road that has a broad range of choices. I am wondering if it is possible that...
  3. I am so frustrated!!!! we were doing so well and then we had a bunch of family in and out of the house over Christimas. I am convinced that my FIL gave something to my son. He thinks that I am just making up the celiac stuff. Anyway, right after his visit Noah got terribly sick. For days he had uncontrollable bowel movements and kept messing his pants. Then...
  4. thanks everyone!!! Out it goes!! I will go back to the almond milk. I only got rice dream because they don't sell almond milk at the store I usually do my shopping at (commissary, we are military) and I didn't want to have to keep making an extra stop. Almond milk was the only thing I was going to the other store for. I had not gotten it before just because...
  5. Noah has had diarrhea off and on for a couple of weeks. I can't figure out where he is getting gluten from. He is going to school now, but I really don't think he is eating anything without telling me. He is at the OVERLY truthful stage so I just don't think he would sneak it. I did get a couple of new things at the grocery store, but I check ingredients...
  6. I just wanted to say thank you to all of you. It helps so much to here from others, and to feel some sort of validation from all of you. Sometimes the anger just wells up until I feel like I am going to burst!! I wish I could just accept and go on... in front of everyone else that is just what we are doing... but inside I just want to go ballistic on a few...
  7. I am so struggling lately with just feeling resentful and angry about my son's problems. He has seen 5 different doctors, 2 of which were gastroenterologist, and all of them just treated symptoms. He has had extremely severe constipation since he was a four months old, and has been on laxatives and stool softeners since then. He is going to be 4 next...
  8. Nicole your son sounds like mine. Chronic constipation since 4 months old, miralax, high fiber diets (HA!)... nothing worked. He has been Gluten free for 2.5 months, and started potty training on his own.... sounds great right.... WRONG! Well when you are constipated all the time, you learn to hold your stools. In the last week, he has been holding so he...
  9. Thanks Alona, I guess I am gonna have to work on my kitchen a little bit. The other problem he is having lately is mouth Ulcers, this is something he didn't have before... so I am just at a loss. I am wondering if his sensitivity is increasing as he is healing??? Anybody else experienced this.
  10. My son Noah has often in the past scratched himself to the point of leaving bloody spots. I did not think it was a rash, I thought it was a nervous habit. Well now we are finding out that he is probably Celiac/ and lactose intolerant. So He has been Gluten Free/dairy free for about 2 months. With awesome results. I have not been extremely careful with cross...
  11. Soooo worth celebrating!! My son has the same issues. He has had chronic constipation since birth and we are on month 2 of being gluten/dairy free, and he has been off of his stool softener almost completely for one month (he did have it once after a gluten slip up that got him really stopped up) It is so exciting!! And he is having the same pain/sensation...
  12. Carlson for Kids Chewable Calcium, My boys love it. The multivitamin I use is Hero Nutritionals Yummi Bears. Both are gluten-free/CF(dairy free)
  13. My son is 3.5 years old. And we have just recently started the Gluten-Free diet as well as dairy free. He has had chronic constipation since he was around 4 months old, never had a good appetite, and is extremely small for his age. He looks malnourished to me (though I have taken him to several doctors and apparently they think he is fine) 28 pounds at 3...
