  1. Hmmm? Never heard of that before. But, she never really complains about her clothes or her baths or nail clipping. thanks for the suggestion though.
  2. Where do I purchase that liquid calcium stuff you are talking about? At whole foods maybe? We do have a small health food store in town that I could try too. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to look for that.
  3. THANK YOU. Seriously, for some reason I just needed to see this typed out. Your suggestions seem simple enough, though I'm sure she is going to fight me tooth and nail at first. I'm going to start on Monday after all the Easter activities and do this exactly as you typed it out. It is going to suck, but I need to bite the bullet and so does she...
  4. You know what is weird? I keep reading here about kids being picky due to pain associated with foods that make them sick. But, my daughter is EXTREMELY picky and the only food she chooses to eat has either wheat and/or dairy in it. Isn't it odd that she picks those foods over meats, veggies, potatoes, and natural things that won't make her sick...
  5. Actually they are still one of the few things she eats. Since going gluten free I have been using Annie's rice pasta and cheddar cheese mix. And I use the kinnickinnic pizza crusts, homemade sauce, and mozzerella for her pizza. But, I guess I have to kiss that stuff goodbye too.
  6. Do I have to remove it when I bake too? Like, no milk in baked goods too? How about butter?
  7. I've had my 2.5 year old on a gluten free diet for two weeks and she still has not made any improvement. (She still has quite a bit of bowl movements and diarrhea.) I have not taken dairy out of her diet completely, but she doesn't get milk or yogurt or ice-cream. But, I have given her cheese almost on a daily basis....mostly because she...
  8. Thanks. I got rid of my beloved cutting board, my non-stick pans (they were old and icky anyway), and my wooden and plastic spoons. Takala~ you cracked me up about the toaster thing. I went shopping for a new one and felt the same way you do. Felt like an elf shopping in a giant world for a moment! It's a good thing that we got a nice...
  9. All- Thank you for your help. Glutenfreemeg~ I feel your frustration. I am currently trying the diet on my daughter. We have celiac disease in the family and she has the classic symptoms, but her blood work and biopsies came back normal. I'm trying the diet anyway. She has too much diarrhea to be normal in my opinion. Anyway, I also have some...
  10. I'm new to this. How do I really clean the gluten off all my dishes, pots, pans, etc... My muffin pan is a non-stick. Should I get rid of it? My bread pan is glass (pyrex I think?) Can I clean it and remove all the gluten, or do I need to replace it as well? How about my measuring cups (stainless steel) Thank you!
  11. California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo and Bodywash does not contain nut oils, gluten, soy, oat, or dairy. Neither does the sensitive lotion. I also have the Overtired and Cranky bubble bath by them and it doesn't have any of those ingredients either. You can buy these at Target, Not sure about CVS though
  12. Well, I've kept a symptoms journal on my 2.5 year old daughter for a little over a week. Not very long, but I'm certain that the past week is very typical of most weeks, so I'm moving forward. Many of you suggested that I take her off both gluten and dairy. How long will she need to be dairy free before I can reintroduce dairy? Also, my 2.5...
  13. Thank you so much for your replies. I'm starting a journal, as you suggested, on her bowl movements, stomach ache complaints, sleep habits (which are HORRIBLE), and her starting weight Going to keep that for a week or two and then putting her on the diet ASAP. Ursa~ My DD has skinny arms and legs with no butt at all. You can count the ribs...
  14. I also wanted to add that my daughter always seems to be hungry. In fact, half the time she tells me her tummy hurts, I believe she is just hungry. She eats a TON. And still asks for food every hour or so?
  15. Hello. I posted this over in pre-diagnosis section, but thought I'd perhaps get some good information from other parents of young children... Thank you so much for reading.
