  1. I take just regular magnesium oxide from Walmart, Walgreens, CVS. It usually comes in 250 mg- make sure it is a gluten, wheat free brand ( says on the side of bottle). I take 1 in am and 1 in pm and more if I need to- but it can cause a laxative effect so start slowly. Good luck.
  2. Hi! Just wanted to add my advice... I have malabsorption problems- ??? caused by celiac, still unsure but followig the celiac diet. I had severe chest pains, especially at night. Said it was my GB, had it removed and still it went on and on.... I finally started taking magnesium tablets and WOW has it helped immensely. I now carry a small bottle of mag...
  3. Meline, Please post the list of all ingredients to avoid. This is all a bit confusing to me yet and I am trying hard to stick to a strict gluten free diet ( as well as soy, dairy, no red meat)to see improvement as soon as possible. And what about the vinegar... the nutritionist told me bragg's apple cider vinegar was okay and actually good for me??...
  4. Thanks all, this is still very confusing to me. I see my Dr. in two weeks. Any ideas what questions I should ask him. Previously he said if biospy neg, bloodwork neg, celiac gene test neg- celiac is highly unlikely- do you all agree/disagree??? Is there a medical test for gluten intolerance??I am still on the gluten free diet and restricted dairy, sugars...
  5. Dear all, Just wanted to relate my progress as it may help even one other person. I had the 3rd accupuncture today and I am feeling better. Not as much fatigue, mind fog, bloating or diarrhea. Yes, it also could be the diet working for me - at the advice of nutritionist I have given up dairy, soy, anything processed, pretty much fish, chicken ,veggies...
  6. Hi! I had the camera pill test done. My results were flattened villa and erosions of small bowel. I had blood work, and biospy which were all negative. Dr. has said he does not think it is celiac/crohn's. I am following the gluten free diet as advised. My family Dr. said it would help "heal" my small bowel. And I am still having severe malabsorption issues...
  7. Carla, Give us some info on how you "healed" your leakey gut sydrome, ect. So far all my tests are negative (negative biospies, negative bloodwork, still waiting on gene test). I am following the gluten free diet for about 1 month and am not feeling better. My Dr. believes my malabsorption problems were due to overuse of antibiotics ( multiple megadoses...
  8. Hi All, I just wanted to add this past year my calcium and vitamin D were very low and I had restless leg syndrome. I could not rest at night, my legs twitched and jumped. After getting those levels back up it has pretty much gone away. So you might want to make sure your Vitamin D and calcium are normal. Good luck.
  9. Hi again!! I had accupuncture last year... it was not painful at all, relaxing. The new person I am going to comes to my Dr. office ( alot closer to home and works with my insurance). However, like you I had one treatment and it was /uncomfortable/painful. He said to tell me if I have pain and he would adjust/ which he did. He said his needles were more ...
  10. So far my diet is only Gluten - free. I am scheduled to see a nutritonist in 1 1/2 weeks to see what she thinks. She came highly recommended by a "healed" crohn's pt. Any other ideas would be great... although I really hate to give up dairy/soy unless I am tested and it shows a problem. The gluten-free diet has not made any great changes in my health but...
  11. Yes, Please let me know your progress, as I will post mine here. I have similar issues, 35+lbs. weight loss ( still losing), diarrhea, extreme fatigue, vitmain/mineral deficiencies that have affected my heart rhythm ( now on verapamil). I am still looking for an answer but need help til I get it.... every test is negative, Great, right, except I need an answer...
  12. Hi Everyone, I am a desperate woman looking for some relief....still doing testing and all negative for celiac and crohn's disease. But all my symptoms - fatigue, diarrhea, malabsorption, erosions/flatten villa on small bowel, big weight loss in past year, now on gluten free diet for 3 week . My question- has anyone had improvement in their symptoms...
  13. Hello all, I love to read the posts, hoping I will gain some knowledge to help me deal with all this "stuff". I have been doing the gluten free diet for about 3 weeks, no noticeable improvement. I had blood work for celiac and crohn's - negative. Had biospy this week- negative. Had the ??"celiac gene test"??? ( not sure if right wording), still awaiting...
  14. Hi everyone! I had endoscopy/biopsy on Tuesday, awaiting results. Still no improvement in health, in fact worse but I am on levaquin for a bad sinus infection. My magnesium levels dropped to 1.9 ( they tested me after feeling terrible all week). And still no mag shots, won't do til they reach 1.6. My question to you all- who do you get to check for all deficiencies...
  15. Thank you everyone for your advice, it helps so much to hear from others who have been there.... one of the replies mentioned vitamin D, I was deficient in that earlier in the year, take the D3 ... thanks and also have had low potassium and iron ( ferratin). Maybe there is hope on the horizon. I asked for shots of magnesium, but unless it gets lower they...
