  1. Does anyone know of any hot chocolate mixes that are gluten free? Is there usually a problem with hot chocolate mixes having gluten in them? Now that the weather is getting cooler here in the Northeast hot chocolate would be a yummy treat!
  2. So am I safe to assume that the "modified food starch" in Kraft dressings is not Wheat since they label wheat on their prodcuts?

  4. Should I be concerned that tea might have gluten in it or am I pretty much OK w/ any tea? Thanks!
  5. my husband and I have a toaster oven and when I toast my gluten-free bread I put it on a piece of foil so that it doesn't touch the metal grate that the other bread has touched, do you think that's ok?
  6. Are most Kraft Salad Dressing Gluten free?
  7. celiac3270, So the company didn't say anything about possible cross-contamination? I assume that since they specify the "big ones" we should stay away from the mini rice cakes? Where do you find Lundberg Farms rice cakes? ~Denise
  8. The tests that your doctor would run to rule in/out celiac are for specific antibodies (example: IGG, IGA), which are different from those (IGE) in an allergy.
  9. Does anyone know if Quaker Rice Cakes are gluten-free? If so, what flavors are? I eat Quaker rice cakes all the time and I'm hoping that there's no hidden gluten in them, but I wasn't sure, so that's why I'm asking.
  10. Does anyone know if Lifesavers wintergreen mints are Gluten Free? I hope so
  11. what about the skin prick allergy test, where they prick you with small needles and inject the antibody to see if your skin reacts to it? I had this done and they told me I was allergic to wheat. Does that mean I'm gluten intolerant?
  12. Well, this past weekend I did my own "gluten challenge", I ate some stuff like pizza and wheat bread and I got my answer b/c both Sat. and Sunday I had gas and integestion/acid reflux, basically I felt the way I did before I went on the gluten free diet. So my husband and I just decided that I'll stay on the gluten free diet and forget about doing the endoscopy...

  15. well, I've tried to do my own "gluten challenge" and yesterday and today I've eaten some wheat and yesterday I had lots of gas and today I have integestion pretty bad. My husband just thinks it's b/c I'm introducing something new to my diet, but I'm pretty sure it's from the wheat. It's just hard b/c I'd like to get some answers but I don't have an appt...
  16. what does that all mean then?

  18. Another thing on top of the fact that I was positive for the IGg antibodies back in 1998, I also went to an allergist then and they told me that I'm allergic to wheat. I'm just confused as what I should do.
  19. Another factor is that back in 1998 when I got that bloodwork done I also went to an allergist and they did a skin test and found out that I'm allergic to wheat.

    ARCHIVED Philadelphia Dr.

I got an appt. w/ Dr. Kastenberg. Do you know if he has people do a gluten challenge before the endoscopy? I was on a gluten free diet before my first endoscopy that came back inconclusive, so I'm wondering if he's going to want me to eat gluten before the endoscopy, I don't have an appointment with him until October 4th.
  21. Back in 1998 I had bloodwork taken and my IGg antibodies were 17.1 (they should be <7) so I've been gluten free since then. I wanted to be 100% sure I have celiac so recently I went for bloodwork and it came back negative. I'm thinking of going for an endoscopy, but I wasn't sure if the positive IGg antibodies and the fact that the gluten free diet helps...
  22. I just got the results from my bloodwork that was taken in 1998 while I was still eating gluten and the IGG antibody was 17.1 and the normal range was <7 I sent this to my dr. to see what he has to say. I'm hoping that I might not have to have another endoscopy done.
  23. Has anyone had the symptom of depression with the celiac? Has it gotten better with a gluten free diet? I've read a lot of things saying that depression can be a symptom of celiac disease, I just was wondering if it gets better w/ a gluten-free diet.
  24. What does anyone else know about how long you have to be eating gluten before a correct biopsy can be done? Thanks
  25. I believe Stoneyfield yogurt is gluten free.
