  1. Okay on the safe and forbidden list- Sodium caseinate is on the forbidden list and it says in parentheses contains MSG. However on the safe list is MSG. So I am confused. Is sodium caseinate okay or not? Do you guys eat products with it in there? It is in Kroger's hot chocolate mix.
  2. Three out of four of my kids have celiac and are gluten-free. It hasn't been that long since we found out so they are trying to adjust still. They miss bread but we haven't found anything decent. I was thinking maybe I'd give this a try if someone wouldn't mind posting the recipe for me again. I read about it in another thread but couldn't find a recipe...
  3. I have three sons that tested positive. I opted not to do the biopsy for them since they tested positive for the endomysial antibody which is 98% accurate for celiac. I didn't want them to have to wait to feel better or go through the risks associated with biopsy.
  4. I think - antigiladin, transglutiminase, endomysial, anti reticulan.
  5. Just wanted to update and say that I found out that all three kids tested positive for the endomysial antibody. The lab said anything over 30 was moderate to high. My kids' levels were 74, 79, and 102. All three of them are gluten-free now and so am I since I am still nursing the youngest one. My dh I tested negative but I think he has a sensitivity. ...
  6. My 17 month old was diagnosed with celiac about 2-3 weeks ago. My oldest three were tested and today they called and said that two of them were mildly positive. What the heck does that mean. One had a GLIABG level of 74 the other was 79. They are 6 and 9. The baby had results of 102. I don't know what these mean and why they are saying mildly positive...
  7. My son was dx about three weeks ago. His doctor called me and said he was positive for celiac disease and that was it - no follow up, no suggestions, recommendations, nothing. She also did not want to test my other children since she didn't feel they were exhibiting the SAME symptoms. ( I know you can be asymptomatic). I had to insist they be tested and...
  8. My son is 17 months old and was diagnosed with celiac last week. He had reflux, apnea, asthma, enamel problems, calcium def, cried alot, diarrhea, diarrhea, and more diarrhea. We are making most of our own food as the convenience foods are so expensive. Betty Haagman has a great book I will have to look at the name. I am using alot of recipes from...
  9. Did your celiac kids cry alot before going gluten-free. Mason is 17 months old and was diagnosed last week. He has always cried alot! He has been gluten-free for a week now. I know it takes 6months plus for their intestines to heal. He still has crying jags during the day that are just horrid. He doesn't cry as much as he used to. So did your kids...
  10. My son was diagnosed as having celiac disease last week. I am nursing him so we are both on a gluten-free diet. I went gluten-free on Friday. Since parents and siblings of celiacs are to be tested I had my labs done yesterday (Tuesday). I was only gluten-free 4 1/2 days before I had labs done. Will the labs be reliable? I should still have gluten in...
  11. I was wondering if everyone's kids take vitamins and if so just a multivitamin or extra stuff to to compensate for the malabsorption issue. Mason is 16 months old and takes a multivitamin. I tried to get him to take calcium chews but he spits them out. He is lactose intolerant right now and I am afraid he is not getting enough calcium. He was just diagnosed...
  12. My son is 16 months old and still breastfeeding. He was diagnosed with celiac last week. He is gluten-free and I am eating a gluten-free diet also so that he can continue nursing.
  13. My son Mason is 16 months old and was diagnosed last week. He has been gluten-free for a few days and has been dairy free for months. We have already noticed improvement in just the few days he has been gluten-free. The diarrhea has stopped for the most part, he has more energy, and seems happier, he is sleeping more regular as well. He is still breastfed...
  14. My son is 16 months old and was diagnosed with celiac last week. Could someone please tell me if it is safe for him to have liquid ibuprofen?
  15. I would also like to know the answer to this.
