gluten free hubby

my wife has celiac's, and tonight it seems that she may have suffered some cross-contamination at a restaurant which we frequent. the restaurant in question has been "safe" in the past, but tonight she's having an attack. my question is, is there anything at all to either mitigate or accelerate a gluten attack, or is it simply a matter of waiting it out...
