  1. Such as lotions or ??? Thanks.
  2. Are there any doctors at these three hospitals who are particularly knowledgeable about celiac? Thanks!
  3. I had a bad reaction to Health Valley Rice Bran Crackers the other day, and I'll throw up if I even look at another rice cake. Thanks
  4. Is it because food stays too long in the intestine, or not long enough, or...? I've been gluten-free for almost three weeks, and the bloating is really bad. My stool is still soft for the most part, and often yellowish in color. I'm not sure if there's a connection. Is it better to eat or not eat when you're bloated? I've been taking Gas-x...
  5. ...Are still on the shelves some places, according to a representative at Boost's consumer info center. Chocolate Malted was the only Boost flavor which contained gluten; it was discontinued 12/2006; however, bottles from that time were processed on the same machinery, opening the possibility of CC. To be sure you have the new, safe formulation, go for...
  6. Thanks for your response. It sounds like you've really thought this through. I know everyone is different, but may I ask what a typical day's menu would be, because perhaps I could learn something from you. Today I had papaya, avocado on a rice cake, banana, free-range salt-free turkey on a few more rice cakes, with a hardboiled egg, and some beets, half...
  7. Thanks so much for your response. I notice in your signature that bloating, migraines, and constipation disappeared -- may I ask how long it took? I haven't had gluten except Beano, before I learned it was derived from wheat, for around two-and-a-half weeks, and I'm feeling very frustrated because the abdominal cramps have disappeared -- for which I'm immensely...
  8. Thanks for the information. Could you give me a few examples of foods with which you eat flax oil, and how much you had per day? How long did it take for you to heal?
  9. If you try a new food and get D, does this mean your intestine has gotten re-inflamed, and that you've set yourself back -- or does it mean you haven't hurt yourself, but you shouldn't try that food again for a while -- in my case, peanut butter.
  10. Thanks so much for your very helpful, very edifying response. Do you personally make the choice to eat something like a dried apricot which is gluten-free, but comes from a facility that processes wheat, or something made on machinery that processes wheat? I found that yogurt irritated my stomach more than a little hard cheese when I tried it, so I'm wondering...
  11. It's amazing that you lived on rice, chicken, and bananas because those are the only things I ate for around a month, besides boiled carrots -- this was before I learned I can't eat gluten -- and I also had burning cramps that felt like my intestines were on fire -- it became so bad I couldn't even eat bananas, just small amounts of boiled chicken and rice...
  12. Before I developed celiac, I used to eat yogurt all the time. But the other day I tried it, and had D afterward. I don't know if this means I've become sensitive to lactose. If so, is it generally ok to eat yogurt if you have Lactaid first? Do those of us who are lactose-sensitive avoid lactose entirely to be safe, or is it better to get the nutrition...
  13. Is yogurt plus Lactaid ok? I don't know for sure if I'm lactose intolerant (never was before). Are hardboiled eggs and salmon ok? Thanks!
  14. They are made on shared equipment, like many of the gluten-free products at Trader Joe's. Do you know anyone this has been a problem for? I'm not sure whether to avoid foods that say that.
