  1. Thanks fedora, that was very useful information, and it does shed some light on my situation... I am going to check for allergies with an allergologist, because I do get some eczema on my face once in awhile that I think might be an allergic reaction to some kind of food (probably wheat?), just out of curiosity, and then try the gluten-free diet and see how...
  2. Thanks for all your answers. I got some clarification from Enterolab saying that with my genes I can't have celaic disease, just gluten sensitivity, although I am yet to find out what's the difference. so it looks like, as some of you said, if my son has celiac then he got it from dad, so he's next on the list to be tested.
  3. Thanks for your answers! I probably didn't make it very clear, sorry, but the gene testing was done on me, I have these two genes, I don't know about my son because since he had such a good answer to the gluten-free diet, we didn't think he needed the test. And my husband doesn't really have any symptoms, he's very healthy so we didn't think he was the "culprit...
  4. Hi! I have just received my gene testing results from Enterolab, and quite honestly, I'm at odds on what to do next. My son was diagnosed a celiac after negative blood tests and a positive biopsy. He has improved greatly on the gluten-free diet, so there really is no doubt about his diagnosis. However, I decided to go for the genetic tests just to see where...
  5. Thank you all for your words, I feel more relieved now...
  6. Hi! My son is 2 years old as well. When he first started having his sintoms (huge belly, throwing up all the time) it took awhile before we convinced his doctor to ran the celiac panel on him, but when he did, with the exception of the Igg, everything else came back negative, so she dismissed him as not being celiac. But I took him to a Gastro Pedi and it...
  7. Thanks for your reply. He hasn't grown a thing since December- his celiac sintoms and ordeal began in January. He does look fit, even a little plump having gained 6 pounds in 2 months, but it's just that I would have expected that since he was so obviously gaining weight, meaning his gut was healing, I thought he would have grown something... his GastroPedi...
  8. Hi! My 2-year-old son has been on the gluten-free diet for 2 months now after being diagnosed a celiac through a biopsy. He has gained 6 pounds in these 2 months which put him back on the 95th weight percentile, from where he had started to fall about 8 months ago. However, he hasn't grown a single inch, and is now on the 50th height percentile. My question...
  9. Hi! My 2 year old son was recently diagnosed a celiac through a biopsy, but his blood tests were negative. He started the gluten free diet almost a month ago and we are now seeing some improvements. However, we were waiting on our blood tests, because even though we didn't show any simptoms, my son's doctor ordered them anyway since this is an hereditary...
  10. Thanks for the inputs! SIBO is small intestine bacterial overgrowth. My son's almost 2 years old, and so far we have been very strict with the gluten-free diet and CC issues. He drinks lactose free milk and an occasional yoghurt; he tested negative for lactose intolerance and he never really seemed to have any issue with dairy, but we're keeping him low on...
  11. Hi! Our son was just diagnosed a celiac, negative blood tests, and a positive biopsy. However, since starting the diet 2 weeks ago, we feel he has gotten worst. Is it possible that the diagnosis was wrong? Before the biopsy we were worried that he might have SIBO, because he was on antibiotics and corticoids on and off between January and February this month...
  12. Thanks for your help RiceGuy! He's off dairy and soy as well, I mean we do give him lactose-free milk and yogurts since the doctor said to keep him low on lactose for some time while the intestines heal, but he was tested and he's not lactose-intolerant. I'm not too stressed on how long will it take, because the prognostic is good, ie, if he's celiac the...
  13. Hi! My 22-month old son was diagnosed celiac last week through a positive biopsy, after negative blood tests. He immediately went on the gluten-free diet, but we are yet to see relevant results, actually his mood has gotten worst, and he hasn't slept any in the last few nights, which is not really like him. He's cranky, and just wants to eat, all the time...
