About Me

I work as a bike messenger. I get real wet during the winter. I have never been allergic to anything in my entire life. I have always been very healthy and athletic. I hardly ever get sick. I am the least picky eater I have probably ever met. I have always had an "iron gut" and been able to eat anything my whole life.... until now. Now my whole world has changed.

  1. Thnaks alot for telling me your story, I am about 4 days back on gluten now and still feeling good exept for some gas(which is very uncharacteristic for me). Have you started feeling better again? If so, how long after going gluten free after the "challenge" before you startd feeling better again? Was it quicker than the first time that you went gluten...
  2. Ursa Major, yeah, it is frusterating. The problem with finding another doctor, is that I don't have insurance, but since I go to OHSU, which is also a university, they have financial discounts, and for me it is all 100% free!!! So I am kinda stuck there, but it is supposed to be a really great hospital. They have me on thyroid and testosterone replacment...
  3. MLB, I'm sorry, I just realized that I called you Nora_n. I am sorry, I am no good at chat rooms, I get everybodys names mixed up all time. sorry! scotty.
  4. Nora_n and Ursa Major, you are both very right and I agree with you both absolutally, that modern medicine has and continues to fail us, especially with issues such as this one. I think that getting a biopsy is NOT something people need to get at all. If you feel good gluten-free, that is the best diagnosis anybody could possibly get. You definataly do...
  5. I might not be of much help to you, because I am new to all of this myself, but I can tell you what I am dealing with right now. Other people might disagree with me, this is just my 2 cents. About 2.5 months ago I had enterlab results almost identical to yours on all the tests, exept the gene test. I don't know what yours means, but I do know that I...
  6. Nora_n, thanks so much for all of your replies, it really helps me out alot, and If you are still reading this thread ever, I had another quick question for you. In your signature, you say that you had a negative biopsy but then you were officially diagnosed by DD. What does DD mean? Is that a type of test or something? I have never heard of the...
  7. nora_n, thanks for those links, I read everything on there and I have really learned alot. I was wondering about the "rectal gluten challenge" that it talks about in the first link you posted: https://www.celiac.com/articles/979/1/Chall...-EdD/Page1.html Do you or anybody else know more about this? I searched on-line and I found out about the procedure...
  8. Thanks so much to everybody that has responded. All of this info really helps me, especially knowing that other people have tried this before. IMWalt, thanks for your reply. I also am a bit of an athlete, and always have been for all my life, so I feel like I need to know for sure what is causing all of the problems with my blood(low wbc, low rbc, low...
  9. jesslynn555, thanks so much for your response. I really appreciate it. It sounds like maybe the four weeks, is kinda standard for being back on gluten.? Could I ask you a couple more questions about the process your son went through? How did the month back on gluten go? Did he get really sick right away? did he feel really bad throughout the whole...
  10. Does anybody know of any good websites or chat rooms that have something to do with adrenal insufficiency or adrenal fatigue? I have some questions about the accuracy of some of the tests, and was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction. By chance does anybody here know about the accuracy of the ITT(insulin tolerance test) for testing...
  11. I know this question has probably been asked a hundred times, but I was looking for anybody's experience with trying this. Also let me know if this is in the wrong forum(I couldn't really tell where I should post it). I tested positive with enterolab for gluten, and a very high number for malabsorption, and the dq-2 gene for celiac, all in mid march....
  12. Ive, thanks alot for the info. Thats what I was kinda afraid of, it just seemed to simple to only watch out for GI stuff. I am sorry to keep asking so many questions, I feel like I am probably getting kinda annoying. But, anyway Ive, could you give me a little bit of an idea of how long after eating dairy that you would notice those symptoms, and...
  13. Ive, Roxy, Ksymonds84, Nancym; Thanks alot for all of your replies, I really do appreciate it. So what I am kinda gathering here is that dairy is deffinatelly a digestive issue. Weather it is an upset stomach, or the big D or C, or any other kind of discomfort, it seems to be mostly related to GI issues, and not really the same problems that gluten causes...
  14. Mushroom, thanks alot for your reply, I really appreciate hearing about anybody else's experiences with all of this stuff. I don't mean to sound ignorant, but I am kinda new to forums in general(this is the first one I have ever posted on). But, does "ED" refer to the big D? and is "RA" refering to arthritis? Thanks again for all your help, scotty...
  15. GFMolly, Thanks so much for letting me know about your personal experience with it. I really do appreciate it. I would love to hear from anybody else also, to see what kind of reactions people have had. Like if some people feel like they have been glutened or if it is a different kind of feeling. Just what it felt like for them to have a reaction to...
