  1. Dixiebell, Thanks for the reply. Yes my blood tests have been positive. Also the DNA testing was positive on two genes. Had a biopsy several years ago and it was negative but it sounds like false negatives are not uncommon.
  2. I've had 4 endos over the years and I actually remember the last 2. It was still easy. with the med they put you on you really don't care what happens at the time. Don't worry its not as bad as it sounds.
  3. I've been gluten free for a couple of years. tested positive on blood test and gene testing. I periodically will have sudden diarrhea. I've typically assumed it was due to cross contamination because it seems to but usually after eating in a restaurant. Two nights ago I intentionally ate quite a bit of gluten at a restaurant. I had not done that in the...
  4. This site has been a welath of information with so many peolple willing to help. I'm relatively new to the site and I finally tested with Enterolab. I would sure appreciate any help in interpreting the results, especially the DNA testing. Here are my lab results: A) Gluten Sensitivity Stool and Gene Panel Complete *Best test/best value Fecal Antigliadin...
  5. Thanks for the help. It does tend to get a little confusing because they are few certainties in the testing.
  6. Thanks for all of the help. I have one more question. I went back to the results for the blood test that I had done a couple of years ago. The IGA was less than 20 and it stated that the normal range was "less than 20". The IGG however was 36, and again normal range is less than 20. I'm not sure what the IGA and IGG represent. Also, what is the significance...
  7. I have been taking digestive enzymes that are formulated to help digest gluten. I also plan to use Enterolab for testing in the next day or two. Does anyone know if the enzymes will affect the test results? Will the tests possibly show a false negative because the enzymes are aiding in gluten digestion? Has anyone here found digestive enzymes to help...
  8. I don't understand. I thought since they do biopsys, they could Dx.
  9. Thanks. I appreciate all of the help.
  10. I'm new to the forum and have questions in regard to a gluten free diet. It's very intimidating. Is it possible for some people (and hopefully me) to derive benifit from going low gluten? By that I mean avoiding obvious sources of gluten but consuming spices, using shampoos with gluten etc. I realize many people need to be extremely stict but are celiacs...
  11. Thanks. I had the boold panel and biopsy done a few years ago at Mayo. The boold work was positive but the biopsy was negative. They told me that since the biopsy was negative that I did not have celiac and that I would not in the future because the biopsy would have indicated positive if I were prone to have it. Somehow that doesn't seem right to me...
  12. I'm new to the forum and have a couple of questions. Has anyone had experience with Enterolab for testing? Is it a reputable lab? If the resluts come back indicating celiac, then is a biopsy necessary? Thanks for any help.
