Hello - I just got off the toilet, again. I tried a new approach before going out to dinner last night - took 2 Pepto-Bismols. It helped some, and my hostess planned what she thought was a gluten free meal, but obviously there was some "poison" somewhere - as I didn't ask what all was in the hamburger. Would instead of taking the PB, if I had taken 2 Immodiums...

If I used NuLev, would I not use Imodium or Metamucil? I am gluten sensitive not Celiac.

I forgot to add that I had quit taking 2 Imodium because it made me too constipated, so was taking 1 Imodium with the metamucil.

I too was told to use Imodium by several friends with gluten sensitivity and or celiac. I was using 2 Imodium in the a.m. and still having some diarrhea in afternoon, which I attributed to lack of fiber. So I added 1 Metamucil capsule in the afternoon. Sometimes this works - as in the last 4 days, but this morning, I am having purging diarrhea. I wonder if...

I enjoy a moderate drink and have read various topics on the suitability of scotch whiskey for those who are gluten sensitive. What brands of Scotch whiskey are acceptable?

Thanks for all the responses. I used to make wonderful sauerkraut with beer, pork, caraway and any brand of canned or jars of sauerkraut. Now that I am "gluten sensitive", that leaves out the beer. I am also finding that now when I eat any gluten containing foods, the reaction is far worse than before I went gluten free. I have been gluten free since the... -

I wonder also about canned sauerkraut. I used Safeway Canned sauerkraut and added caraway seeds when cooking it. I had it twice in the last week, and had diarrhea the next day after each. Has anyone else had the same problem with canned sauerkraut?
