  1. Thanks Scott! Yeah, it seems unlikely especially with the gene markers. I can't recall now how much gluten I was eating before that first negative test, but the antibody levels of 200 later that year certainly point to positive, leaving aside the biopsy. Thanks for your insight!
  2. Thank you so much @knitty kitty! I'm keen to dig into this more. I did a little research yesterday but didn't read about HLA DQ9, so that's very interesting! I put my raw data into a site called XCode I was able to see that I do have the high risk markers on DQ 2.2 and also IL 21. I suppose it was wishful thinking Appreciate your reply!
  3. Hi everybody, I had symptoms of celiac in 2008, received a negative blood test, but went ahead with an endoscopy which showed significant damage to my intestinal villi. My gastro in NYC got a second opinion from Peter Green at Columbia who said he thought it was likely celiac. So I went on a gluten-free diet and have felt much better since. But--and...
  4. Hello, I've been diagnosed with Celiac for about a year now. It's going well, to the degree that I'm leaving out most dairy, taking L-acidophilus eating a varied diet (thanks to the advice of a previous forum post about doing the latter). But I have one outstanding problem: After guzzling a bottle of (100% juice) fruit juice I always feel very tired:...
  5. I've been diagnosed Celiac for about a year now. I'm still not getting the consistent relief I thought I would. I have to wonder whether it's stress related. When I do eat gluten, I have crazy uncontrollable gas and bloating for like 5 hours. This has only happened about 3 times in the past year. But when I don't eat gluten, I still have very irregular...
  6. Mindy, I was diagnosed with Celiac in April and also found I still had the SAME PROBLEMS! I stopped eating dairy -- though I sneak in trace amounts for the milk in my coffee and tea. It's made a huge difference, and I also added those enzymes, which I bought from Vitamin Shoppe (GNC also sells many kinds). I bought a Canadian kind that has several enzymes...
  7. A person I know, who is the person who clued me into the fact that I might have Celiac (and I do), claims that they have the condition, calling it "Celiac" and saying they've had it for years. But when I asked how they manage to avoid trace amounts of gluten in their diet, their response was this: "Oh, I've actually started eating things with gluten in...
