  1. I was just flipping channels tonight and found an episode of the Planet Green channel series Emeril Green where Emeril is helping a man find recipes for his granddaughter who has multiple food allergies including wheat, eggs, dairy, soy and nuts. I checked out the website for the show and it looks like there are a couple more episodes that are specifically...
  2. All three of my kids (only one needs to be gluten-free) like the L'il Critters Gummy Vites. The carry them at our grocery store and I can usually get them at Target too. Peg
  3. Most Friday nights my daughter and I make pizza with the garlic breadstick mix. We like it better than their pizza crust mix. It's so good and we don't feel at all cheated when the rest of the family orders a pizza. Peg
  4. I was just diagnosed last July (in my 40's) and it was the first time that anyone in my family had ever heard of celiac disease. I've wondered where this heck this came from. My sisters have both tested negative for it. My dad hasn't bothered being tested. He is 85 and has CLL and doesn't think that my celiac has any relationship to him. He doesn't have or...
  5. Celiac is an issue that they are aware of at our church probably due mostly to the fact that one of the directors of religious education at our parish has it. At our church you have to alert the priest before mass that you will be receiving communion and he lets you know where to sit so that you will be receiving communion from him. They put the low gluten...
  6. I have found several recipes from a gluten-free cookbook that call for soy flour. I noticed that the brands of soy flour that are available in the stores here (like Bob's Red Mill) don't specify that they are gluten free. Is it ok?
  7. I haven't done much gluten-free baking yet that hasn't used packaged mixes. I've only been gluten-free for a little more than a month and I have collected recipes that I want to try but I never seem to remember to pick up all the right ingredients. I have made this cake however and it is great! I made it for my son's birthday a couple of weeks ago so that...
  8. How do you like this....I'm from Wheaton, IL Peg
  9. I found this site a couple of weeks ago and it's great. It was suggested last month that I most likely have celiac disease. I tested highly positive on my blood work and was referred to a GI doc. I am going in tomorrow for an endoscopy. Since I am anemic and there is a history of colon cancer in my family (my grandfather) they want to do a colonoscopy too...
