  1. Yup....several times. Some Trader Joes products, Bella Monica pizza and a salad dressing. The first 2 I doubt were made on a gluten-free only line and when I turned the salad dressing around (that was marked "Gluten Free" on the front), the ingredients listed BARLEY.....so now I read EVERYTHING two and three times.
  2. Gosh, that is a lot to deal with! Hope you feel better soon!
  3. Thanks! All of my other "issues" have gone away on the gluten-free diet...and I feel SO much better, so I am happy. I keep HOPING that the headaches will go away eventually, but after 6months, I am not so sure. So, I am keeping Pagets in the back of my head (no pun intended) since my uncle has it and Pagets can cause headaches. I am going to see a doc...
  4. bumping? Anyone? I have had a headache since 1999 (everyday, 24/7). I was hoping, after the Celiac diagnosis and 100% gluten-free diet, it would go away. It hasnt. I was wondering if there is a link between Celiac and pagets.
  5. I have Celiac disease. It was just diagnosed in this summer (altho I have been sick for 16 years...it has been a blessing to finally figure out what the problem was). I am fairly certain that it comes from my dads side of the family (based on their medical histories), but he will not get tested. His brother, my uncle, was just diganosed with Paget's Disease...
  6. Bumping....anybody out there have any info? Thanks!
  7. Hi, I was in Borders today skimming through which new gluten-free book I wanted to buy and there was a warning in one of them that said to be careful since NOT all Soy Lattes are gluten-free. I KNOW starbucks is since I wrote to them (and have seen many posts regarding them) but I was wondering if anyone out there knows WHICH Soy brands contain Gluten? ...
  8. Hello, we will be going to visit my husbands family soon and I googled Whole Foods and Trader Joes (my 'go to' stores for gluten-free food) in Michigan and there are none close to Kalamazoo (where we are staying in a hotel with full kitchen so I can safely eat) and Battle Creek where my FIL is in asst living. Can anyone tell me where I can shop in either...
  9. Are snickers really gluten free? If so I will be psyched once I am back to eating dairy. I REALLY like "Gluten Free Girls" recipe for Hummus. I make that, and dip rice chips in that.
  10. Thanks for your post kmps! I feel your pain. I have struggled with poor health since 1992, and going gluten free has made the most difference to me thus far (and Ive tried a LOT of different things to improve my health). Ive been told I have CFS, fibromyalgia etc....which *I* think is a doctor cop out. Not that I disagree that those diseases DO exist...
  11. Hello, I apologize if this is a dupe, but I posted about this last night and I cant find the post anywhere. I have been gluten free since 6/5. I also went casein free at that time. I have been dealing with a laundry list of health problems since 1992. I had been dealing with nausea for about 2 years 24/7, so I went to see a GI doc. He thought perhaps...
  12. THANKS!!! I have her book (Its GREAT) - but never saw the recipe til your post made me look for it. Looks kind of involved, so thanks for the post on the pre-made stuff.
  13. Hello, I have seen several recipes calling for graham crackers (or Graham cracker crumbs). Since I cannot find any locally, I am going to have to order it. So, can anyone recommend their favorite brand and supplier? (I have only shopped locally, never mail ordered gluten-free stuff....I am pretty lucky to have a lot of choices around my home). Thanks!
  14. Hello, I have been gluten-free since 6/5 and 99% Casein free as well since then. I had an endoscopy done on 6/5 to see why I had been nauseous for almost 2 years and I asked the GI doc to do a biposy. He did 1, and said it was negative for Celiac (but note, only one sample was taken). 6 weeks later I went to be tested for food allergies and the doc did...
  15. Have you been tested for thalassemia? Im hoping that if you are in the care of a hematologist he would have checked, but one never knows.
  16. I was there for food allergy testing. He asked me if I wanted to do the bloodwork for Celiac. He said it may come back negative because Ive been gluten-free...but he said if it came back + I knew for sure it was Celiac, vs just an assumption.
  17. THANK You for your post. My biopsy (altho singular - not even 4-6) came back negative but so many of my symptoms have disappeared on a gluten free diet that I was confused. My doc (not a deliac doc) said my nausea was due to 'chronic pain'. However, after just 1 week on the gluten-free diet the neausea (that I had for almost 2 years) was gone and has not...

    ARCHIVED Headaches

Hello, I think you are suffering with migraines. If so have you ruled out them being caused by MSG (Mono sodium glutamate)? I get migraines from MSG, NitrAtes (not nitrites) and sudafed. Keeping them out of my diet keeps me migraine free. I have just recently been gluten and casein free and I am HOPING that it will eventually rid me of the tension headache...
