  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. That makes sense GFinDC. Beans in general, I suppose, are the #1 gas-producing foods. Perhaps if soy causes excessive gas and bloating, dysbiosis rather than an allergy may be the issue. Those interested might want to do a "dysbiosis" search in the forum--I remember seeing at least one thread on that topic. My heart goes out to all the multiple food intolerance...
  3. Thankfully it looks like I am not allergic to soy, going by the symptoms people have mentioned in that thread GFinDC posted. I found another, if controversial, thread on the soy issue: Open Original Shared Link Still I am concerned about the possible mineral deficiencies and hormone disruption that soy may trigger, especially since I have been eating...
  4. Thanks GFinDC for those links. The first article especially spells out a lot of the areas I had questions about. I suppose I will give miso or tempeh a go and see if I notice any substantial difference in energy or digestion. Alas, I have no rats to test on I was fed with an infant formula and I would be interested to know what was in that stuff. I...
  5. Hi Tim, Well I'm assuming some people in the forum have gone off soy for reasons other than that soy products might be contaminated with wheat or gluten. Those reasons are what I am interested in knowing more about, if anyone cares to divulge.
  6. Yeah it's disappointing there seems to be nothing new on it since 2006. I'll try to search some medical journals and see if anything pops up. I expect the Dutch to come through on this one, as it was a Dutchman who first connected the disease to wheat flour in the diet.
  7. I have noticed from reading a few posts that many of the members of this forum are soy-free and I would like to know what might be a problem with soy products. I eat tofu almost every day--a cheap and I thought healthy way to increase protein, notably tryptophan, in a diet. I have heard of the theory that soy may interfere with thyroid activity, but are...
  8. Open Original Shared Link This PEP sounds promising, perhaps too good to be true? Well I hope not. Google turns up little else on this topic and it does not appear to be available for purchase anywhere. Please let me know how it might be gettable if it is, or if anyone thinks it's mularkey I also appreciate that input.
  9. Thanks for the suggestions. In the past I have found Only Oats' Maple and Flax to be the most delicious--in fact much better than the usual store-bought oats. Someone mentioned to me that they eat McCann's, a brand I have seen in some stores, and indeed one foundation recommends it: Open Original Shared Link Has anyone had success or a bad experience...
  10. Hello, Does anybody eat oats available in the average, non-health food store supermarket? Is there one brand that might be somewhat tolerable, better than the rest? I enjoy eating gluten-free oats that I order online but might give another brand a shot if it is not too much a risk. Also, does anyone take herbal supplements to help with the GI-related...
