  1. I saw my new doctor yesterday. He is a very nice man (thankfully!) and he spent a long time with me, trying to puzzle out my symptoms. He wanted to order the celiac panel, which made me very relieved. I hope to get the results soon.
  2. Thank you for updating us on your situation. I really hope you can get to the bottom of what's going on. Take care!
  3. I put my son on a Gluten-free Casein-free diet when he was a year old. It took 2 or 3 months before I saw a normal bowel movement, but the behavioral changes were wonderful and immediate. Good luck!
  4. I hear that a lot of folks remain grumbly if they use a lot of gluten-free flour substitutes and rice rather than just avoiding bread and other grain products. I remember reading an article stating that grains and legumes are the biggest contributor to gas and tummy troubles for most people, celiac or not. I hope you get to feeling better soon!
  5. I'm not diagnosed, but yes--I think this is completely possible! I spent 2 months gluten-free and when I started to eat gluten again, I got sick like you wouldn't believe! Nausea, diarrhea, hands and feet so swollen I couldn't walk or make a fist, strange rashes, intense brain-fog, and so on. If you feel that you need a doctor's confirmation in order...
  6. Thanks for asking that question. I had been wondering the same thing, as I've only been back on gluten for a couple months and I am getting tested soon.
  7. Thank you. That's very helpful. I'm glad to be going in to this next appointment armed with specific requests.
  8. Sorry that the nurse was rude to you about the blood tests. I've had several such experiences now. Did she mean that it would take 7-10 days for -them- to get the results, or for them to tell you the results? I've had good luck getting a copy of my blood test results sooner when I tell the office that I need a copy for something else (for example, that...
  9. Oh, yes. I agree with not doing anything to jeopardize the test results. I'm also keeping on with eating gluten until I can get tested, too. I hate how it makes me feel, but I want objective, concrete evidence of what I'm observing.
  10. Hi there! It sounds like we're in similar positions. I don't think I've ever heard of someone growing taller in their twenties, but I'm no expert. I hope you get the answers you need. Have you tried a few weeks without grains or sugar? Many people, myself included, have clearer skin when they avoid foods with a high glycemic load in addition to avoiding...
  11. I have been suspecting for about 18 months that I might have celiac. My son had extreme fussiness and learning delays which were corrected after putting him on a gluten-free diet. This caused me to examine my family tree, half of which is comprised of people who have colon cancer, intestinal problems, IBS, etc. Not one of these people has been tested for...
