  1. Thank you very much for all the ideas. I appreciate them and my husband is grateful for the tips too ~ he has something more concrete to work with. It has been frustrating and upsetting not only for me but the rest of the family too. I am so grateful for the people like you that know and understand.
  2. Hi - I could use any suggestions advice you have. Gluten Free since Sept 08, biopsy negative for celiac. Last Friday I ate something inadvertently that had gluten in it. Within 10 minutes I was reacting; bloatedness, burps that sounded like they came from my toes, and a burning sensation in my stomach and cramping a little further into the intestines...
  3. My tests came back negative as well (biopsy and labs). I followed my primary doctor's advice and went gluten free anyway. I took a few months of weird things like rashes, low grade fevers, headaches as my body started recovering. Going gluten free and dairy free has changed my life. I have had all the same symptoms you listed and they are all gone....
  4. I just have a question for all you experienced people. A brief history: I did a 7 week gluten challenge, had negative biopsy and the physician said she ran a celiac panel that was negative for the markers of celiac. However, she recommended I go gluten free for 6 months and at that time reconnect and have a deliberate exposure to gluten to see if there...
  5. I just had a biopsy done and it came back negative for celiac sprue but I had labs done the same day showing vit D deficiency as well. I recently started taking Vit D 2000 IU a day and will get tested again in a few months to see if it helped.
  6. Sure - of course.. Since medically speaking the gold standard for a positive dx for an MD is the duodenal biopsy as well as supporting labs, I am willing to "play along" so that I can be heard by the medical community when I say - no thanks, I would not like medication to treat the symptoms for migraines, more medications for allergy symptoms, more medications...
  7. I dont' feel so alone with your story. My goal was/is at least to eat 23 g of gluten a day for the 5 1/ 2weeks I have left. What do you mean by 5 gluten a day? I don't know how to establish what equals 23grams.... there is so much information out there i.e. 1 slice of bread equals 4.8 g of gluten and 1 slice of bread equals 10 g gluten. hmmmm So i've...
  8. Wow - really? I can heal in 3 weeks? I had no idea... the most common thing I could find was months of gluten free.... That is good to know so I don't have too high expectations. Thanks
  9. I had eliminated gluten for three weeks (maybe three and a half total) in July in order to see if some of the ailments I had been suffering from would go away. Sure enough they did. The day I reintroduced gluten back in I thought i swallowed knives( a friday). I didn't have gluten the next day but still suffered from horrible tummy cramping and heartburn...
  10. Hi to you all - I'm new to this group and after eliminating food from my diet for a few weeks at a time over this year when I eliminated gluten and reintroduced it, it was dramatic. I was overwhelmed with the stabbing stomach pains, heartburn, nausea, which after a couple of weeks has turned into to sore achy joints, and a feeling of overall puffiness ...
