    ARCHIVED Gluten Intolerant Vs. Celiac

Ah, thank you! This answer is beautiful, and kind of summarizes what I suspect. I like looking at it as Celiac is one reaction to gluten intolerance. And yes, I hate it that she is trying to discount my opinion, just because she's getting a "formal education" and all I have is personal experience and the web. We interacted badly on a completely unrelated...

    ARCHIVED Gluten Intolerant Vs. Celiac

On another message board where I offer support for others being diagnosed as Celiac or gluten intolerant, there is a dietician who basically follows around to see where I post about gluten, and makes sure that everyone is aware that I am not a REAL Celiac. I only call myself gluten intolerant because I was unable to go back to eating enough of the stuff...
  3. It's funny how when I'm all pissed off and hating everything that a part of me wonders if I just have an anger management problem. And then the anger-fog lifts, and I am over getting whacked off whatever I ate that was wrong and poison to me. Who the hell was that person that wrote the above entry? It is part of me, and I don't like it, yet when I am that...
  4. I hate everything. I hate everything right now. Yes. Something got me. I don't know for sure what. Maybe I got CC'd. I also suspect I have an allergy to eggs now. Or reaction, or sensitivity. This weekend I made an egg and cheese scramble. And I sneezed a lot while cooking. And then glurble groan said my stomach after I had eaten. Damnit! And...
  5. ETA:I read "Is it the soy?" and thought you meant soy sauce. A lot of soy sauce is made with wheat. You need to find a brand without it. La Choy is wheat free, and some Tamari is wheat free, but not all of it.
  6. Hi! Has everyone else cleaned you out already? I would be happy to make a drive in the pursuit of things to help me on this journey. I will PM you too.
  7. I get very short of breath too when I've been glutened. No one seems to have much of an answer. I suspect it is just bad particles wandering around the body causing inflammation. I also have RAD, reactive airway disease. Generally only reactive to cold air, exercise, powerful smells... But boy is it hard to catch my breath when I have gluten! I hit...
  8. Oh dear. I'm new to all this, but I read cream cheese was not safe to eat. I don't remember where gluten figures into it, but harder and aged cheeses are supposed to be the way to go. I miss cream cheese, but I"m not ready to challenge it and get sick again.
  9. Add some magnesium to your diet. If a mag supplement straight gives you D then take a Mag/Calcium supplement. It won't be as strong. Also Epsom salt baths. No need to drink Epsom salt, you can absorb the magnesium from it through your skin. My supplements right now are straight Magnesium 450 mg, I worked up to it from a Mag/Cal supplement. Sublingual...
  10. If this involves lemon juice, oil, and epsom salts, your doctor is a quack. Research that one for yourself, the "stones" you will pass with that particular "treatment" are saponified oil with bile that colors them green. Epsom salts will empty out your intestines and make you feel better temporarily. There could certainly be other "flush methods" out...
  11. She did say she'd accept outside test results, but since she offered in house testing I suppose I will go that route. Not having to pay out of pocket sounds good. I just wonder what they'll test for. And if I could possibly still get a negative result, when I feel soooo much better without gluten. Just worried people will think this is all in my head...
  12. Thanks for reading my initial post. I have posted a couple other threads, one with test results. I was ordered a TTg IgA which came back at 4.98 after a little more than a month gluten free with two days of gluten "loading" in anticipation of testing. I never imagined I'd get an appointment so soon, so I didn't have any time at all to reexpose to gluten...
  13. I went back and forth with my doctor, who was not very well informed about gluten sensitivity. She insisted an antibody would always be around, even if I wasn't eating the trigger food. But I knew that was wrong, and sure enough scored pretty low on the TTg IgA blood test. A 4.98 after somewhat more than a month gluten free with two days of gluten "loading...
  14. I bugged the right person, and got my results back today. Finally. With an apology. "Well, it was negative, so no alert was issued..." I had been inadvertantly gluten free for about a month when I reglutened myself with horrible consequences. With a little googling I found this site and many others that describe everything that was wrong with me, why...
  15. That is a good idea. I have coverage through Group Health Cooperative, so it may take some digging to find out who to contact. They want everyone to go through the proper channels of course. Thank you! I'll definitely post here when I know something more.
