  1. Once you have a diagnosis of celiac, it can be like a weight lifted, because now you know what to do to get better. He will be amazed at how much better he feels if he stays gluten free for awhile. I know it's hard being dx'd at 12. My son is only 3 when he found out, and then I just had positive results and I'm 35. There is the risk of other autoimmune problems...
  2. My son would vomit every once in awhile too and had the bloated belly and skinny arms. He was diagnosed when he was 3. So it's definitely worth testing--and even if it's negative, she might want to get tested later if there are no other answers. Or you could try gluten free after the test regardless. Other symptoms he had were fatigue and irregular BMs...
