  1. Darci, My husband says I have "wished this" so I don't have to have sex! Good luck on your procedure. At this point, although that sounds scary, anything sounds good to me, including hysterectomy. I am sick of it! Again, hope it goes well. Susan
  2. One more thing. It might be best to get it over with (in hindsight) BUT You do NOT have to decide by Friday!!!!!! You can wait and do it when you are ready. He (the doctor) would LIKE you to decide now. But if you are not sure, then wait until you are ready. Don't ever be pressured into something like this, you have time. You boy is...
  3. I will put in my 2 cents as a mom too. You decide about the test-more people on the forum and your doctor can help you decide if it is necessary. But I will share that my daughter was sedated (all the way) for a bronchoscopy as an infant. I was sick with worry, but it was over so fast. They keep those little ones under for such a short period of time...

  5. In a previous post someone said there is a 50 percent chance I have celiac disease since my mom does. Does that mean there is a 50 percent chance of having a gene for celiac disease? Or does it mean there is a 50 percent chance that I will "get" the disease? Just wondering.
  6. I am 44, they tested iron with a fingerstick-don't know what test that was called. It was good (12? I think) No herbs, not a big soy fan, so unless it is in something I don't know about....I'll check my cereal. This is possibly perimenopause going on- but seems a little excessive to me, has been going on since June. They have ruled out endometriosis...
  7. Are prolonged periods or bleeding between periods ever associated with celiac disease? I am bleeding 2-3 weeks a month. (Don't worry, I am seeing a gynecologist about this and undergoing tests. She just hasn't found anything wrong at this point.) I was just wondering. Thanks.
  8. Great idea to ask for everything. Isn't it funny how managed care has beaten me down so much that I pretty much give up before even trying!!! Thanks so much. I hope I don't become a permanent member by necessity, but if so, seems like I have found the right place! For genetic testing, is it just a standard test, or is there something specific I ask...
  9. Hi- I have a strong suspicion that my daughter(s) and I may have celiac disease. My mother has it. One of my daughters and I were tested about 4 years ago and we were both negative. (antibody test) She has a defect in the enamel of her permanent teeth which I know is very rare and often linked to celiac disease. Here are my symptoms that...
