  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. My fiance and i are trying to narrow down our honeymoon picks and I think we are settling on Grand Cayman. Has anyone been there since being gluten free? I know there are a few sushi places at the hotels i've been looking...i would love to take my gluten-free soy sauce with me, but i dont know if i can....wondering if gluten-free products are available...
  3. Does anyone have a favorite dining out-mexican dish that is gluten-free? I haven't been out for mexican since going gluten-free, so i need some suggestions!
  4. Thanks for the response. I did use splenda in the bbq recipe and we bought whole grain rolls for the non-celiacs to enjoy rather than white bread rolls. We are having big green salad full of fresh veggies. I also bought nuts at the suggestion of others and 2 huge containers of strawberries, some will go into a strawberry pie (sugar free jello & sugar...
  5. Thanks! I was hoping Pho would be safe, i always hear how delicious it is. I'll try the spring rolls too!
  6. I am going to a local vietnamese restaurant tonight for the first time. I've read about the dishes, but i'm not familiar with the ingredients. Are there any seasoned viet-vets out there that can recommend a dish that is most likely safe for a gluten-free diet? Of course i'll be checking with the staff at the restaurant.
  7. I am hosting an easter gathering this weekend and one of the people coming is diabetic. I am not too familiar with the diabetic diet, but I do know that carbs & sugar are bad when in excess. Does anyone have any cooking tips to please both the gluten-free & diabetic diet? We are going casual and sort of non-traditional easter fare. I'm making...
  8. Sounds delicious....but I have a problem...i'm really trying to do this on a budget (in the process of being laid off) I was going to use all purpose gluten-free flour...would the measurements be the same?
  9. Does anyone know a good gluten-free banana bread recipe? I'm trying to cut costs this christmas and was going to make a few to give as gifts.
  10. Since going gluten-free, there have been a few times, where I just wanted some real chips to go with my naked burger, or with my sandwich. I've switched to tortilla chips, or rice chips, all of the varieties, but it never completely scratches my itch for potato chips. Finally, i found what i've been looking for. Utz chips. Not the regular ones, but Utz...
  11. Mission brand corn tortillas are great. they are the small ones, but they help with portion control! anyway, i love them for mexican pizzas, quesadillas, and even slapping 2 together for a regular "sandwich". Available in the regular grocery store....i got 100 of them for $5 (4 packs of 25) popped in the freezer and i'm good for months....and they say...
  12. Bell is my last name! Weird...anyway, I just noticed it in the past few weeks. before they would be sore about the week befor my period. But now, it seems that a few days after it is over, they are sore (like it hurts to run up/down the stairs!) I can't really pinpoint any other symptoms...i can def. tell when i get glutened. its weird to feel bad for so...
  13. I am newly gluten free, just about 2 months now. I am pretty sure that around the time I went gluten-free, i started experiencing lots and lots of tenderness in my breasts. Anyone else experience this? Its not the normal pre-menstrual symptoms i have had in the past. i am unsure if it is because of my new lifestyle, or if it independent of that and i need...
  14. My brother is getting married at the end of January. There are 2 meal options, roast beef (probably with au jus (?)) and crab stuffed flounder. I'm positive the crab stuffed flounder is out of the question, but as for the roast beef, I am leaning towards that. He is my brother so I don't feel bad or rude about asking him to find out nutrition information...
  15. I just read in my gluten-free for Dummies book that since there are so many cooks for potluck meals, you should try to make your own dish to bring. That way you know whats in it, and you can eat it. The author also says, if anyone notices that you're gobbling up the dish you brought, simply explain yourself...i'm sure they would understand.
