    This is funny, I was just thinking of this same thing today...what to do when you get invited to a holiday party where you know there is little you will be able to have. I was actually thinking about skipping lol.

    Sometimes I think that high schoolers are so mean!! The bad thing is, these incidents have shown you that it doesn't always stop there (I.e. your teacher in the skit)....I hope that these people shape up! There are good people out there, and I'm sorry you've had to deal with such mean ones! Hang in there and keep on smiling!!! The thing that probably bothers...

    I don't even know what test it was that told them I had celiac....I had so many tests it's hard to tell! I was assuming a blood test but maybe I'm wrong.

    About the nacho cheese....the one they have at our stadium's concessions comes in individual little containers (like smaller yogurt or pudding containers) that is SEALED (no cross contamination) and has the ingredients and "gluten free" typed on the outside......pretty handy!

    I think we used the bread machine once and never used the pasta maker so I'm going to make sure and wash out the bread machine really well prior.     I actually have my own apartment so I can cook whatever I want....which is fantastic...and we have a bread machine!!! A very un-used one, at that We got it as a gift from my boyfriends parents, and used it 2 times I think. It's still in the box in the closet!     I haven't started my nutrtion classes yet but I will let you know of some of the foods they recommend once I do start! I feel the same way about the corn tortillas--icky compaired to what I am used to! (flour tortillas are so much softer) but they are ok. My friend told me to try lunch meat and flavored cream cheese (like onion or chive) rolled up in them...

    Ok, that makes me feel better because it is bright red. Thank you for your advice, and I am going to call on Monday just to be on the safe side! Now, I just have to work on getting my parents tested! That's another worry!

    That is a really nice thing to say, THANK YOU!!! I try to keep a positive attitude...It's so hard though because I feel like no one understands sometimes! I'm the only person my age (I'm 22) who I know has this...all my friends are like "wow, that sucks, how can you live without bread??" or something like that.     I was told that I don't have to give up dairy...just the gluten. They said diary can be a problem for some but for me it doesn't seem to be. So, thankfully, that makes it THAT much easier for me. Thanks for the help!

    I know what you're feeling, I think! I just found out on Tuesday that I have celiac and I have been without for about 2 days.....I feel so cranky! I hate being this moody but it's like I can't help it or something. I actually thought about napping this afternoon so I wouldn't have to be around anyone--lol!

    I'm kind of like that too, and even though I've only been gluten free for a day and a half, I have noticed a difference. Before, right after I ate I'd get really really cold for about 5-10 minutes. It was the weirest thing ever!

    Thank you, best of luck to you too! It's a great feeling to have my stomach not feel like it's in knots by the time I go to bed at night. I have been feeling that way for so long, I can't even remember when I felt normal last. I'm finding so many new recipes and foods that I never really ate before, it's like a new adventure or something! I'm just worried...

    I have officially made it one full day being gluten free!!! Wooo hooo! My first gluten free dinner went well and both my boyfriend and I enjoyed it! I printed out a bunch of things from the internet and put them all in a binder so I can have all my "cheat sheets" in one place. This board has been so wonderful. I feel so much better already, it's unbelievable...
