  1. I'm anemic and have had problems with low iron since at least my early twenties. I'm 29 now and we are trying to figure out the cause. My blood test for Celiac came back negative. I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy and an upper endoscopy to make sure there's not any bleeding going on. They are also doing the biopsy for Celiac while they are in there. If they...
  2. Thanks so much for all your replies! I didn't realize there were so many risks. This is very helpful and motivating to be strictly gluten free.
  3. you have celiac disease but continue to eat a normal diet with gluten. What are the complications of still eating gluten? We're pretty sure I have celiac disease. I just got tested today, but don't have the results back yet. I would never continue eating them, just curious....
  4. I just had my blood drawn today to be tested, and am scheduled for the biopsy. I don't have the results yet, but my doctor (also my mom's doctor) said that if I had it, my mom probably does too. I have two girls - ages 1 and 3. If I have it, they will also be tested for it.

But if you have a big appetite you are still getting too many calories and can gain weight, right? I feel like I crave food all the time and often feel like I can't control myself. I'm about 20 lbs overweight, not horribly overweight. Maybe...

  7. I've also noticed I've been much more irritable the last couple years. Did anyone feel like this prediagnosis? Did it get better once you went gluten free?
  8. Did anyone have tingling/numbness in thier feet before being diagnosed with Celiac Disease? That's another symptom I'm having. It's not constant and doesn't last long, it comes and goes. I did read on one website that tingling/numbness in the legs or arms is a symptom of celiac disease, but haven't really seen anyone mention it. Did anyone on here have this...
  9. Thank you so much for answering. While I've always had an issue with low iron, I also just thought it was something I was going to have to deal with. I always just thought I was naturally a tired person. But I feel more tired now. And I've also been getting chest pains and shortness of breath the last couple years due to my iron being so low. I'm now stepping...
  10. Was anyone's diagnosis of Celiac Disease prompted from iron deficiency anemia. I have had issues with this since at least my early twenties. I'm now 29, and trying to figure out the cause of the anemia so I can control it. I'm have moderate anemia (but borderline sever) and have a lot of symptoms from it. I came across Celiac Disease in my search of answers...
