  1. So any whole grain bread is out for me if it contains yeast. Any kind of quick bread would be good. I have tried a few muffin recipes that turned out terrible. I use whole grain rice pasta and tried millett tortillas (gross) but better than rice. I cooked quinoa once and liked the tasted and texture but I can't find too many good recipes to use it. ...
  2. I have eaten instant oatmeal Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Wednesday night I got a terrible stomach ache and mild diareha. Have had the mild diareha since. I have looked over my diet and this is the only thing that I can think of that was different. I am still learning but does anyone know if this has some hidden gluten in it? Crystal
  3. So far I have done pretty well with most of my meals. The problem has been nights when I have had a lot of activiites when I used to do Mcdonalds or order a pizza. So now that I can't do that I was wondering what is out there as far as gluten free meals. My doctor mentioned Organic Bistro and I am going to try those. I am wondering if there are any others...
  4. I was IgG tested and positive for wheat (biospy and blood test negative) although I am researching and reading and probably early stages of celiac vs. full blown hence the negative tests. I have been gluten free since Dec 1 so not too long at all. My husband and daughter are fine while I suspect my son has gluten intolerance also. One of the questions...
  5. I need to also go dairy free (I also have a yeast intolerance) I have been using rice, almond, coconut milk with huge success. I have used Ghee and smart balance, and earth balance as butter. I however need a subsitute for chedder, mozzerella, and parmesan. I have hyperthyroidism and need to stay away from soy. No intolerance to it so I can have it in...
  6. I need to take a dessert to a potluck type xmas dinner. I need some ideas that won't be gluten. The things I can think of like cheesecake I can't take. (I can't have dairy either) My mind is drawing a blank. Any good suggestions for a dessert, kids and adults all like that I won't have to go searching to get the ingredients. Anything would be helpful...
  7. I need to gain some weight - currently 87 pounds 5 foot 2 inches. I need some high calorie foods besides avacados that I can eat that will help me gain some of the weight back. Any suggestions? Everything I find on the net is dairy, whole grain crackers or bread. Anything would be helpful. Crystal
  8. I want to make a gluten free, yeast free pizza dough. I am having a hard time finding a recipe that is both yeast free and gluten free. I have a couple of Pamela's mixes and Betty's bean flour mix and Authentic foods all purpose mix. Could I use either one of these? Any recipes would be appreciated. Crystal
  9. I talked to the pediatrician again today about IgG testing and IgA testing for food intolerances. (I a mainly concerned about soy, dairy, wheat, the big ones - if he has an reaction to tomatoes I feel that I would catch that because it's not in practically everything we eat) Anyway what he told was that testing is often difficult because you can have...
  10. So are IgA intolerances life long? I have thought long and hard about an elmination diet which like you said would be free. I tried soy when he was a baby and got a bad reaction and I am very reluctant to do an elimination diet when he is only in the 3rd percentile for weight. He is my tiny kid. He is such a picky eater as it is that most of his favorite...
  11. I have had a endoscopy on gluten and tested negative to the biopsy in 2004. I had an IgG test for the wheat/Rye that came back positive. The endoscopy and colonoscopy are looking at other things. So I am not so much concerned for a positive on that test. I am concerned which test to get my son - an IgG or IgA? He is not on a gluten free diet at all. His...
  12. I have had IgE skin testing - not allergic to one thing. I had IgG testing (ELSIA testing) it came back positive for - wheat, rye, mushrooms, milk, brewers and bakers yeast. The allergist said this IgG testing is not reliable and there is not science to back it up. The lab that I paid $450 to run the test has been doing this for 25 years. I really...
  13. Does anyone know where - online or someother source where I could get a customized meal plan for hypoglycemic diet that would incorporate the wheat free, yeast free, some dairy free? I have googled but not found anything that is all of those. Thanks for all of the reply's.
  14. Is anyone here also have hypoglycemia? I can't figure out how to eat and the combination of food to eat on this diet. I tried to sign up for E-diets where you get breakfast, lunch, and dinner suggestions and combinations but almost everything had whole wheat and cottage cheese. I researched eat a carb with a protein well to be honest I feel like I...
  15. I live in a small town - near a city that does have Whole foods so I know I can get some gluten free stuff there. However I go to Wyoming often and stay with my family - small town with Walmart and Albertsons. They don't seem to have much gluten free. Where do you shop, do you orders stuff online? Thanks!!
  16. With the exception of baked goods can you subsitute one of one gluten free all purpose flour for regular all purpose flour? Do you have to add anything extra? For example I made beef stew instead of coating the meat with regular flour I used gluten free stuff. I didn't add anything extra. It tasted ok. Are there brands better than others? What flour...
  17. So I am having some tummy trouble. I am newly diagnosed wheat intolerant. I also have a yeast problem too. Right now all I want are Saltines, or toast. I have tried rice bread - yuc. I need yeast free too though. The things that make me feel better when I am sick I can't have!!! Grilled cheese, mac and cheese , chicken noodle. I am frustrated. I can...
  18. I am just wondering if family and friends just don't read the lables and hidden wheat sneaks in? I would have thought Mom/Dad would make sure it was all wheat free but I don't know. I am still so new to this. When you get sick - if you don't mind - what are your symptoms? I tested negative for Celiac Antibodies, but positive for wheat sensativity. I did...
  19. I was just wondering if I will be able to enjoy going out to dinner again? Every sauce seems to have hidden wheat. It seems that dinner at friends home would be hard too. Thanks, Crystal
  20. Thanks for all of the replies. I will check out those websites. I have two children age 2 and 6 and because I prepare the meals in this house the entire family will have to follow any diets I have to follow. I figure they probably will benefit also and since they are biologically contected to me some of my issue may be hereditary. I do not think I was...
  21. I had a food sensitivity test I tested positive for Milk (not cheese so the doctor said they Whey in the milk - although she wants me to give up cheese too since it's fermented. I am not sure I can do that since I love cheese) A skin prick test showed that I am allergic to none of these foods. I didn't test positive for any foods. I was also tested for...
