  1. The ELISA is a method for testing food intolerances (IgG reactions) and it is also the method used by the York Test. I used the York test at first, which came back with only slight intolerance to yeast - which I knew did not make sense - so I wasn't very impressed. I then used the Cambridge Nutritional Sciences, who use ELISA and in fact they developed...
  2. Hi, I tested negative on blood and biopsy but have been off gluten for over 2 months. Some success in this time but some symptoms crept back in I had the 113 foods york test but that did not show any intolerance to wheat or gluten. Very disappointing indeed. I just cannot make any sense of it (especially that when blood done fore coeliac I had...
  3. Hi Rhhoger, I was reading your post and had to check that it wasn't my own. lol I have been gluten-free for over 2 months now after testing negative on blood and biopsy. I saw a positive change over the initial couple of weeks but then most symptoms returned. I have tried lactose free (been on it for the last 2 weeks)diet and after a consultation with...
  4. Hi, I have read in many places that some poeple seem to develop other food intolerances after starting the gluten-free diet. I tested negative on blood (5 out of 15 required for coeliac diagnosis on IgA) and then negative on biopsy. I have been gluten free since 1st of April regardless and although there was an initial improvement I am beginning to feel...
  5. Hi ang1e0251, There was a mixture of: dried cranberries, raisins, sunflower, pumpkin, linseed and sesame seeds. dairy free margarine, sugar, golden syrup and eggs. I am ok with eggs otherwise and the seeds or fruit weer not something I supsected?
  6. Hi, I've been on the gluten-free diet for about 10 days (third time as was on gluten challenge for testing) before I made some fruit bars using milet flakes and quinoa grains. I seemed to have similar reaction to getting glutenned and it took a few days to recover. To check if the bars were in fact the cause (recipe from a gluten-free cook book) I...
  7. Hi, I saw a gartroenterologist this week and he said a recent study shows that 4 slices of bread a day are required for at least 4 weeks before a biopsy. So 10 more days to go for me and I will be tested . I am not sure if this same rule applies to blood tests also.
  8. I suppose the information I am looking for is it still possible to have positive biopsy with these blood results? I am wondering if there is much point in me going through the procedure if it is clear that I only suffer from an intolerance and Coeliac can be ruled out? Thank you!
  9. I saw my GP today who presented me with the blood test results as follows (this is all that was tested as 'coeliac disease screen'): R SERUM IMMUNOGLOBULIN A 1.7 g/L (0.8-2.8) R S IGA TISSUE TRANSGLUTAMINASE 5.0 u/ml (0-15) The GP said to me that although I have no 'true coeliac' it does not mean that I have no gluten intolerance...
  10. Hi, I suffer from bad bloating too. Excluding gluten from my diet really helped and the swelling receded after about 4-5 days. It is worth you perserveing with the diet to see if it works for you. Just be aware of gluten creeping into loads of products as I got painfully cought out a couple of times.
  11. Hi, I have just done the Biocard test and it resulted 'negative'. Can this be reliable? I have long been suffering from GI problems and was diagnosed with IBS about 9 years ago. Since around 2007 I have also been diagnosed with sinusitis and asthma, for which I receive inhalers and steroid spray. I have also been diagnosed with iron deficiency anaemia...
