About Me

My name is Allison and I am 20 years old. I am a Sophomore at McNeese State University. My major was Spanish, but since getting sick and missing many classes, I have switched back to English. I recently found out that I have a tortuous (twisted) and spastic colon. I also have GERD. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and IBS on March 19, 2009. I am a pretty fun and outgoing person. I love to surf the internet and just be on the computer in general. I have realized that when you least expect it, something can go really wrong, but if you have people around that love you, you will survive and get through it. I love to eat out and I hate to cook. I like to read, but I am mostly reading textbooks at this point. I have two Chihuahua

  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  3. I had a scope on Feb. 9.
  4. I am 20. In a few minutes I shall be posting the results from my celiac test like someone asked. You seem very knowledgeable about Celiac. Today is day 4 of gluten-free and I cheated and had a biscuit. One biscuit and I felt like I ate 10 loaves of bread! Will not do that again.
  5. On Feb. 9 my GI--I have a GI doctor, sorry I wasn't specific --did and upper and lower scope to find out why i had been having trouble with my bowel movements since Christmas when i had a 5cm cyst on my right ovary. He then suggested the blood test for celiac. I want him to give me 100% evidence, though. He said that if he does a biopsy that the piece he...
  6. The blood test my doctor did was inconclusive. He put me on a gluten-free diet for a month, but it was too hard--i'm in college--so, I cut back on gluten and only had it once or twice a day and did FINE. I had a little trouble going to the bathroom, but in about three days or so I would. I went back and he says that I DO HAVE CELIAC DISEASE and IBS and GERD...
  7. My blood work did not say that I had or didn't have Celiac. I was starting to go to the bathroom normally before my doctor knew the blood results. He then tells me to go on a gluten free diet for a month and see if I feel better. I was feeling better before I stopped eating gluten. No one in my family--back 5 generations--has ever had this. Wouldn't my sister...

  9. Why do I need to eliminate lactose? --------------------------------------------------------- Also, I do not live in a dorm. I have a house, so I have fridge, oven, microwave, etc. I am not offended by anyone's comments, I am just really sad. I truly feel like I am dying. This is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. My Spanish final...
  10. Hi all! My name is Allison and I am 20 years old. Before I ask my question, here is my story: I was having trouble using the bathroom and laxatives were not helping. I went to a GI doctor and he decided to do an upper and lower scope. The results
