About Me

I'm a 34 year old male. I live in Chicago. I was diagnosed with celiac 2 years ago, although I had symptoms for 6 years that went undiagnosed, and have been gluten free ever since. I still have some symptoms that I'm trying to figure out: Constant bloating, dizziness upon standing, loss of feeling or tingling in my forearms if I'm laying down, fatigue, seborrheic dermatitis(facial), weight loss, shortness of breath, and a few others.

  1. Hi Beverly, how long did it take for your bloating to subside with the probiotics? I take VSL#3 probiotics(225 billion live lactic acid per capsule). I've been taking them for about 2 months now and still no results. I get them behind the counter at the Walgreens pharmacy. $60 for 60 capsules!!
  2. Thats ok, I appreciate your response. I've been scratching my head forever on this one!!
  3. Hi Kim, thanks for responding. No, he doesn't ask me to keep a diary. I've been taking VSL#3 probiotics(225 billion live lactic acid per serving) for about 2 months now with no results. I'll look into that book. Thanks so much!!
  4. Thanks for responding. What's a Pap smear? I'll definitely look into it.
  5. Hi everybody. I've been gluten-free for over 2 years yet I still have the 'puffy' stomach. I have constant stomach bloating which never goes away. It gets worse after I eat. I was diagnosed with bacterial overgrowth thru a lactulose breath test but antibiotics, probiotics and muscle relaxers didn't work. Neither did the SC diet which I tried for 3 months...
  6. Have you heard of the Specific Carbohydrate Diet? Its all natural whole foods: Meat, veggies, eggs, fish, nuts. It eliminates complex sugars and starches. Many people with Crohn's have success with it. Here is a website about it: Open Original Shared Link
  7. Hi everybody, I've been gluten free for 2 years and about a month ago just started the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. For about 5 years, I've had dry flaky skin on my face and if I do not use moisturizer, I get bad rashes under my nose and around my chin. I was wondering if anybody had any experiences like this and had a solution. Doctors prescribe creams but...
  8. I was gluten free for 2 years and still was having acid reflux. Recently, I started the Specific Carbohydrate Diet and my acid reflux problems have disappeared. The SC diet eliminates starches and complex sugars.
  9. Thanks for responding again. Bacterial overgrowth being the rogue bacteria in my stomach that are eating away the nutrients I'm putting into my body. I don't have the coating on my tongue. I have pale, itchy, flaky skin on my face and blepharitis(chronic dry, red eyes). If I don't use moisturizer on my face everyday, my face breaks out into rashes and I get...
  10. I have not been retested. About the Xifaxan, after my 10 day treatment I called my doctor's office to tell them that it hadn't worked and they told me to wait another 2 weeks to see if it would kick in, but it didn't. I'm just telling you so you won't be surprised or upset if after the 10 days you call your doctor's office and this is what they tell you....
  11. Thanks for responding. I'm taking extra virgin coconut oil with caprylic acid and oregano oil. I switch off every 5 days. Did you have to go on a special diet too or did the capsules work by themselves?
  12. Thanks for responding. Did you also have to go on a special diet or did the Threelac work by itself?
  13. Hi, I hope the Xifaxan works for you. I still have the bacterial overgrowth. Nothing has changed. I decided to start the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. I'm on Day 6 of the diet and nothing has changed. I'll give this diet another week before I give up on it and go back to antibiotics. Let me know what happens. Keep in touch.
  14. My fingernails are fine. I thought about the B12, I think I'll start taking some. Thanks for responding.
