The best advice I have for your husband is to "STOP CHEWING TOBACCO!!!!" The increased risk of mouth cancer, tongue cancer, esophageal cancer, stomach cancer, etc., due to chewing tobacco is well documented. Wow!! Yes, this happens to me, too. I just thought it was from letting myself get too tired. I just realized that I haven't had this problem since I have been more careful about CC. The only thing that helps me through it is vocal rest and body rest.
