  1. ill check it now, thanks!
  2. It doesn't say on the bottle? In fact almost all the stuff I see mod starch on it doesn't say anything after?
  3. I went to the Gatorade site and this is what it says "Does Gatorade contain Gluten? No, none of our Gatorade products contain wheat ingredients, which would be the source of wheat Gluten." What about things like the modified food starch? I don't really like the feel of their answer.. kinda sounds like they blew the question off, KWIM? Sorry...
  4. There was some foods I found out today are not on the safe list and I thought they were. The big ones being Quaker rice cakes and KIX cereal. My son eats them a lot, a lot - a lot, he has had no ill effects. At least none that I have noticed. But he is only 1 and unless I can see something happening, I wouldn't know if his stomach was just a little upset...
  5. Thanks so much
  6. Someone gave me a gluten intolerance group flyer. My son has celiacs, I'm not really sure of the difference. Anyway, Grits in on their safe list? Is this true? I just figured bc it was like grains that I should stay away from that and oatmeal, ect. Can we have grits?? Oatmeal? (fingers crossed)
  7. Anyone know if these products taste any good? I found some Mixes at a local store but I don't want to waste the money if they don't taste very good. Any other good product lines that aren't super expensive? I just tried to make bread for my son the first time and it cost over 40 bucks and I had to go to 4 different stores to find all the ingredients...
  8. Thank you!
  9. I am looking to see if there is any place in Wa with a gluten free menu other then Garlic Jims pizza. The main areas I am looking are surrounding Ft. Lewis (tacoma, olympia, lakewood, lacy, yelm, puyallup) but I am also interested in a place or two in the seattle area. I'd like to be able to treat my family to a night out once in a while which...
  10. Thank you, from now forward I will call and ask about the vinegar.
  11. I asked 2 drs about that and psoriasis (spelling?) both have told me No, it is gluten related. One was a pediatrician and one is the GI dr who recently diagnosed and is treating my son for celiacs.
  12. Thank you. I contacted Swanson... they said they practice "truth labeling" same with sara lee who makes the hot dogs. I did not see gluten ingredients in either however. Back to the drawing board I guess.
  13. My son is on Nexum. Its the only thing he is taking right now that I can NOT figure out if it has gluten or some kind of contamination. I am having issues with his rash from gluten not going away.. I did research before I cam begging for easy answers. Company has not returned my call. I found both sites that say yes it has gluten, and some that say...
  14. All free and clear detergent and he uses huggies baby body wash currently but he had the rash back when he used Johnson and Johnson baby wash.
  15. Its on both his cheek bones, makes him look like he is that crazy lazy with 3lbs of blush on his face, and when it gets really bad looks like pimple bumps on his chin. He had no berries yesterday in fact he had all veggies and no fruit I can think of. I didn't even realize the BBQ had tomato but I will try removing them from his diet. Thanks!
  16. I posted under children but got just 2 replies and am looking for more help. My son had a rash on his face they told me was from celiacs. Well he eats gluten-free now and the rash comes and goes, even when he is eating gluten-free stuff! Yesterday it came back full force and I honestly wonder if its not caused by celiacs. Does anyone know why...
  17. I read on here and few other sites that SOME of the broths were gluten free. I was careful to get the described can of 14oz plain beef broth. I haven't tried removing milk as he was just put on milk at 12.5 months and is only 14 now. I was thinking of maybe stopping soy products....? Sour cream has soy in it and I believe thats the first time he had sour...
  18. So even if this site says that sweet baby rays is safe, it may not be? And if I call and ask where the vinagar comes from? Do you know of any absolutely safe BBQ sauce?? He is not yet old enough to play with paint or clay. He would only eat it. So I don't believe it could be that. Thank you for this help. I am feeling a little helpless and VERY...
  19. I have been trying VERY hard since my 14 month old's diagnoses to have a gluten-free home and all gluten-free meals. His rash, which was said to be caused by gluten, comes and goes even though I have called companies, spent hours researching, consulted with a dr and even other celiacs. Today he had rice cakes, ball park hot dogs, gluten-free noodles...
  20. worth a try, ty very much
  21. How did they know to try red dye? I see various dyes in food now that you have mentioned I went and looked. Blue Red Yellow are all currently in my cabinets...
  22. This is the only image I can find. But I see it most often as a darker green, an Irish green I would call it. http://www.personalizedcause.com/shop/coll...tgreen_zoom.gif (its the same color as the ribbon for STDs, so if you research and get that info, just add celiacs to the search term it will come right up. (in google anyway))
  23. He has had the rash since he was ... maybe six months old. I have asked about things like eczema and they said "maybe its from drool." The rash does not have bumps, it looks nothing like the pictures I see of DH, but they tell me it must be that. No sores, he does not itch it or seem to notice it, it feels like hands that have spent much to long washing dishes...
  24. We are BRAND NEW to Celiacs. We really weren't given a lot of details on the condition. My son has a constant face rash. The dr said its possible its from the celiacs but she had never seen one and was unsure. It does not seem to itch, he never touches it. It looks dry and scaly sometimes. It looks nothing like DH to me which is the only celiacs related...
