    Yes the HLA-DQ typing is the genetic test. Supposedly there's two genes that are associated with Celiac's. If you don't have these genes then it's very unlikely that you will get Celiacs (that's what I've been told anyway). I've found the whole diagnosis very frustrating.     Well by the sound of that it seems very accurate. The only problem I had with the test is I couldn't fill the capillary tube with enough blood so I'm not sure if this affected the results.

    Hi there Has anyone tried this test at home? I did and my result was negative but my blood tests were positive for anti tissue transglutimanase however the drs thought my blood test may have been a false positive so I've had another blood blood test last week and I'm still waiting on my results.... the wait was too long for me so I tried the at home kit...

    Hi Nora, I got some of my blood tests back yesterday, the full blood count were all in the normal range so now I'm just waiting on my second round of anti tissue transglutaminase results. Hopefully they should be back later this week along with my genetic blood tests. Just a frustrating waiting game now....

    Hi Gemini I went back and got extra blood work done on Thursday including the genetic tests so hopefully these will be back next Tuesday. Fingers crossed they provide some answers! My Gastro Dr also mentioned that the problem maybe lower down so I might need a colonoscopy. Will a colonscopy also show celiac disease? I thought only the endoscopy could...

    Both my Dr and I were very surprised when the biopsies came back normal? Anyway he has ordered another set of blood tests so hopefully I'll get these early next week. I was talking to my husband last night about my symptoms etc and he said even though my endoscopy visually didn't show any problems, I've only had more severe symptoms for the last 2 months really so maybe it's not long enough to see any damage?
