Kaylee's Mom's Achievements

  1. This is great to hear!! I've been hearing about some great places in Portsmouth, we aren't close, on the western side of the state, but I think we'll take a trip over there. Not sure where you are from but Heavenly Fodder's in Manchester is 100% gluten free.. they do not have an eat in area though, when they first started they were serving hot food to go...
  2. Today was the second day of school and second day of school lunch. I must say I am very impressed with the lunch ladies and how they are handling Kaylee. They have been great.. I've been in the kitchen both days to see how they are doing everything. They are taking steps to prevent CC, I did supply them w/ Kaylee's bread because she's very picky about that...

    ARCHIVED Subway

She hasn't had any problems and last blood work shows no antibodies. So I'm assuming they are doing a good job. I HAVE walked out of a subway that had just flipped their bread all over everything.. I also look over everything, if I see crumbs IN the bins, we leave.. the place I typically go leaves all their veggies covered.

    ARCHIVED Subway

Kaylee eats subway all the time. She loves it. We typically go to the same one, they know Kaylee and why she can't have the bread. But everyone we've ran into has been super nice. They change their gloves, even if they've JUST changed them, they do it again, they get either new veggies out of the fridge or they get the veggies on the bottom.
  5. Kaylee's school is extremely small so all the meals are made at the district kitchen in the big school. I've spoken with the dietician who is also the food coordinator and plans all the meals. A lot of their stuff was gluten free to begin with, they make their own sauces for pasta's, chili, and taco's.. which is just tomato's and seasoning, not the packets...
  6. Kaylee is starting 1st grade next week. Kaylee really really wants to be like the other kids and have 'hot' lunch. I've worked hard with the school lunch program.. I've been to the school and looked over all the things they use in their lunches, they will substitue gluten-free things where needed. Does anyone one else's kids eat the school lunch, or anyone...
  7. BTW, It IS against the law and violates the ADA when a restaurant does not accomidate you. They have to omit ingredents if they are asked, and its easy. As long as it doesn't fundamentally alter the business or cause any harm, they have to make the accomidations. You can't go into a chinese restaurant and ask for a breadless turkey sandwhich, because that...
  8. We do subway all the time, we've never had a problem.. sometimes they'll give me a look because its an odd request, but they do it. This was a small independent sub shop in MA, its called Maria's submarine shop, I'll NEVER go back there again, and either will my relatives. My Grandmother has lived in this yuppity town for a good 65 years.. she'll get the...
  9. I took my daughter to a sub shop and asked for a small sub with no bread. I was told they couldn't do that. I explained why she needed no bread and again was told they couldn't do that. I asked to speak to a manager, who told me no, as well as the owner's brother. The owners brother started yelling that he didn't know what to charge me and was getting angry...
