  1. I had my second endoscopy on the first day of dec. and decided I would go gluten free regardless of what was seen. I have been through a year and a half of tests and found out that I am in the high risk genetic group 2 strands of the HLA-DQ2 plus lots of inflammation throughout digestive tract and vitamin b12 and d deficiencies. I can not express how much...
  2. Thank you for your replies. You're right the diet change is relatively easy as long as you are committed to it and if it helps it will be wonderful. I have to let go of that feeling that I have to have more than just a positive gene test to be validated. I have stocked my pantry with things so that baking this season won't be hard and am really hoping...
  3. I just had my second endoscopy yesterday, Tues. Dec. 1st. The doctor said everything looked okay but that I could certainly try a gluten free diet to see if that helps since all of my testing is over. Part of me wonders if I should wait to see what the biopsies say but the other part of me is really ready to give the gluten free diet a whirl. My genetic...
  4. I don't have any links for you but I also am positive for HLA-DQ2 plus a subset of that gene and am scheduled for a second upper endoscopy on Tues. Dec. 1st. I would love to know exactly what that means too. My gastroenterologist said that the combination that I have puts me in the second highest risk group and I am not really sure what that means. My...
  5. I can't wait to get the second endoscopy over so that I can see if I feel better on the gluten free diet. Did you say or not if you had a positive biopsy or bloodwork? Thanks!
  6. I see that you went gluten free the beginning of October. Do you feel any better? Thank you so much for your reply.
  7. I am currently scheduled for my second upper endoscopy in a week bcause my gastro. said that I tested positive for HLA-DQ2 plus a subset of that gene and he feels that, that alone puts me in a moderate risk group for developing celiac since my symptoms are pretty bad. I get confused about the genetic testing because I know it doesn't mean you will get celiac...
  8. Thank you so much for your reply. I have to say that I have been making sure to eat gluten containing foods at each meal and surprise, surprise I am not feeling to great. My stools have definitely increased and the gas and stomach pain also, heartburn seems to be getting worse when I was never one to suffer with it except when I was pregnant with my children...
  9. I'm new to the forum and am not sure if I posted my original question correctly. I have had negative blood tests but came back with positive for DQ2 and a subset of that gene putting me in a moderate risk category since I have many symptoms associated with celiac such as: 3-8 loose stools per day, vitamin b12 and d deficiencies, bloating, gas, stomach pain...
  10. I have been trying for the past 18 months to figure out what has caused all of my gastrointestinal issues(diarrhea, stomach pain and gurlging, and bloating, not to mention others) as well as my joint pains and fatigue for the past 7 years. The testing I have done so far has shown vitamin b12 and d deficiencies, delayed small bowel transit time, esophagitis...
  11. I have been aggresively trying to figure out what has been wrong with me for the past 18 months. I am 40 years old and have dealt with loose stools, fatigue and all over joint pain for 7 years. The results I have received so far are: vitamin d deficiency, vitamin b12 deficiency, esophagitis, chronic gastritis, duodenitis, delayed small bowel transit time...
