I have suffered from assorted allergies all my life. I got so interested in researching my allergies and hearing about what others are doing to relieve their symptoms that I started my own blog My blog link
Right now I am researching a rash I have had for 10 years. It sounds very much like Dermatitis Herpetiformis. I find this forum very informative. I may soon take the leap of faith to eliminate all gluten to see what happens. Doctors have not given me any answers.

Dear byoung20415, I have not heard back from you regarding your post above. I would love to quote parts of it on my blog. I like to present allergy problems and show both sides of current thinking. I agree with you, there has to be a relationship to the rash and physical contact with gluten products. Too many gluten intolerants are having the same reactions...

Hi,Sounds horrible. I'm not sure I have the same thing. The rash sounds very similar, but I really don't have the digestion problems. I'll have to look for those pictures. Thanks and good luck to you also!

I wish more medical people, M.D's including primary care, allergists, gastrointestinal specialists etc. would really listen to what their patients have to say. I never would have believed that gluten would be in tennis shoes and stain sealers. Your posting is so interesting and shows clearly why these blogs and forums are so important to people suffering...

I am so glad you found out what was causing your rash. I am interested, what exactly did/does your rash look like? Did you also have gastric problems? I have thought about wheat being a cause, but haven't seen any pictures of the rash involved. I have been so frustrated, figuring out what's wrong with me. I have had a rash over most of my body for 10 years...
