  1. RiceGuy, Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I saw your post and the detail of your recipe, but you could be more specific for the psyllium husk--do you use the psyllium seed husks as is, or do you grind them into a powder/flour? And I assume you are using one package of yeast dissolved in warm water? I didn't see any mention of yeast added to...
  2. I see someone else asked the same question, but got no reply. I also am interested in this high-altitude version, but do not have a bread machine. Does anyone have experience with a good sandwich-type bread (preferable a brown bread) at high altitude? Thanks!
  3. I have unsuccessfully tried to bake gluten free bread by hand (no bread machine) several times now, and the bread does not want to rise. I live at 5800 feet. Does anyone have a good yeast bread recipe that they've had success with at altitude. I've done so much research on this and EVERYTHING I read says something different. I have yet to find a gluten...
  4. Whether you are gluten-free or not, when you are in Jackson Hole for vacation or otherwise, check out the Lotus Cafe in the town of Jackson, WY. Everything on their menu can be made gluten or gluten free, and they have a wide variety of items--many are Asian or Mexican influenced. But they serve rice bread, tortillas and pitas for all of their menu items...
  5. Just thought that I would report that I had the gluten free pizza at Pizza 49 Sourdough Pizza. I believe they have locations throughout Idaho, Utah, Arizona. I ate at the restaurant in Bountiful, UT last week. Although I had my hopes really high that it would be "restaurant style" thick crust, ooey cheese, garlicky pizza like Domino's or some other chain...
  6. Here's an update for me, but still nothing resolved. I have been gluten-free for more than 6 weeks now. To date, my one symptom of having the nausea if I don't eat timely 3 meals/day, has gone away. However, I have still had a few episodes with some food. I went today to have food allergy testing done, and the results showed absolutely no food allergies...
  7. So is everyone suggesting that I do need to have the blood tests done because my doctor says no, it's not necessary and won't tell anything else that the biopsy wouldn't. Should I demand to have them done? After paying for the colonoscopy and the endoscopy, all of my medical expenses will be covered 100% so the high cost of the blood tests don't worry me...
  8. I'm hoping that folks on this forum might have some answers or suggestions for me that I haven't been able to get from my doctor. First, let me take a little time to just share my symptoms and what has been done so far. About 7 years ago, after multiple episodes of horrible shooting pains in my abdomen, I had an upper GI exam done and was diagnosed with...
