  2. I had the saliva test and it came back negative, too. I've heard you could still be gluten intolerant, just not have the gene to get the actual celiac sprue disease.   4. Wow! Even though these posts are old, they are helpful! I am 52 and self-diagnosed myself about a year ago. Both my mom and my aunt are diagnosed with celiac sprue.
