  1. Wow. I would think that whatever it is that makes a child's terrible symptoms go away is the way to go. Especially a diet change that is not harmful in any other way. ...and I would agree that it may be time to find a new GI...
  2. How weird!?! My 3 year old daughter craves milk like she's about to be stranded somewhere!! I've posted about her...no diagnosis, and her labs are normal, but she has concerning symptoms. She downs a whole gallon of milk by herself in just over a week (that doesn't include what she drinks at daycare). Her teacher has told me that at each snacktime/meal...
  3. I have posted before about my 3-year old, whose primary symptom that we have been following is her lack of growth and weight gain. She's almost 3.5 yrs old, still weighs 27 lbs (and has for the last 6+ months); she is 34 inches tall. This puts her at 10th percentile for weight, 3rd percentile for height. The pedi did some labs for her, including serum...
  4. Long story short, my 3 year old continues to have many symptoms of celiac disease. We took her back to the pedi for a follow up appt, primarily for lack of weight gain or any height growth. (Staying at 27 lbs for over 6 months; now below 10th percentile for weight and below 3rd for height, which is suddenly abnormal for her/off her "growth curve"). The...
  5. I am curious about growth as well...I posted another thread about my 3 year old having symptoms... her serum IgA was negative. (The pedi didn't draw anything else so I don't feel like it gave us much information.) We may be asking for endo consult. I'm afraid to put her on a gluten-free diet without doing more testing....if I see a significant difference...
  6. Update.... So we took her in to the pedi, who agreed that she still isn't growing, but didn't seem overly concerned about it at first. Her weight was- again- 27.1 lbs. She agreed that she needed her thyroid checked, as well as a CBC to make sure she was anemic or her glucose too high... She didn't pop to celiac herself, so I mentioned it. The pedi...
  7. Just wanted to update: She has an appt with her pedi tomorrow morning. I'm actually a little nervous about it. Even after fighting internally with myself about how to best addressing this, and then deciding that getting the tests now rather than later was the best idea, I'm still nervous about the appt. buffetbride: it's funny you mention about the ...
  8. I have a 3 year old daughter who has symptoms that are making me suspect celiac. Medically, I understand that they may be just "extreme normals". But my "Mommy-Sensor" has been in high gear for weeks, and I want to thank you in advance for lending your experience with this. Here are the symptoms that concern me; I apologize if this gets long; I'm just...
