  1. I have no idea about whether it's a reaction - but because my daughter continues to hurt after eliminating gluten foods, we've cut out all gluten that comes in contact with her skin, including make-up (both hers and mine). Bonne Belle (spelling?) is gluten free and no cross-contamination according to the company when I called in December 2010. I can't find...
  2. Per Cheryl Ignasiak, Blue Bell Consumer Relations. Also - to address cross-contamination... All allergen products are produced at the end of the day on dedicated lines. Afterwards, those dedicated lines are flushed and then tested for allergens. The following is the most recent list emailed to me on 21 January 2011. Nutrition Notes from The Little...
  3. Hi! We live near Tulsa. My 9 year old was diagnosed last April by Dr. Donovan - the ONLY pediatric GI in Tulsa. He is a very nice man but we're not meshing and he is definitely NOT a celiac specialist. Does anyone know of a pediatric celiac specialist near Oklahoma? We're trying out another pediatric GI in OKC next week, but his bio doesn't even mention...
  4. Just a quick update. Ashlin has had the worst attack since spring the past 2 days. Same symptoms, but mega intensified & lasting much longer. I think the headache hurt more than her belly this time though. Our pediatrician gave her 2 shots last night: Toradol for pain and Ondansetron for nausea. Neither provided any relief at all. And then late...
  5. I recently found this website - www.celiacdisease.net. It's to the University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center. Tremendous amount of information. If you click on "Programs and Events" at the bottom of the screen and then care package, it'll give you directions to get this awesomely huge gift basket from them. My daughter was so excited to get it! It...
  6. Mine always fell in the middle too - followed directions to a 'T'. Added a third egg - it looks perfect. Now I'm experimenting with a different flour. Sorghum's aftertaste is too much for me, but at least the consistency is correct. Good luck! Loucinda
  7. Thank you, Mommida. I've written down the other possibilities (which I haven't heard of before) and will discuss them with the newly referred specialist. Hopefully, he's better than the last...
  8. Rissmeek - When your husband has an attack, does it come and go or is it constant for a few days? How long does your husband stay on a white rice diet? I'm willing to try about anything. Also, the foods he couldn't tolerate - was there an immediate reaction? With my daughter's food journal, I haven't been able to identify a particular food always connected...
  9. Thank you, Mizzo, for the info. Hopefully in a couple of months she'll be pain-free - if we can ever manage to keep her gluten-free.
  10. Hi! (I'm new here.) I'm hoping for verification that these symptoms are "common" in Celiac kids because after a year, I'm so tired. I've read a lot of posts that address the symptoms individually, but not all together. My daughter is 8. Last fall, we went through 3 months of tummy pain due to constipation. That was resolved, then the headaches every...
