ARCHIVED Please Help, Major Stomach Issues
MATT1983 replied to MATT1983's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I haven't tried to incorporate much food because anything I do just does't make it. I will deff. try those suggestions though. I have continued to take all the vitamins the doctor did tell me to take. I take everything twice a day. I was happy to find out that the doctor was able to tell me what I had before my wife changed jobs. We had ins. at that time... -

Hello all, It's been a while since I have posted or asked any questions. Recently my wife and I went on vacation. We went to see her family and they understand my gluten-free & DF Celiac Disease. But the problem is that they don't think about all the cross contamination that can occur. We came back home and the day we left I started to feel extremely...

ARCHIVED Celiac Switching From gluten-free Back To Gluten..help!
MATT1983 replied to kostrof1's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I think to honestly answer this you have to have gone threw this situation. I have tried to go back on a non-gluten free diet and it has successfully not worked. I have tried more than three times to go back to eating Gluten again for certain reasons also, and Each Time I got even more sicker and even worse than the time before that and the symptoms last... -

ARCHIVED Gluten Timing And Process? How Long?
MATT1983 replied to MATT1983's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
We buy a lot of eggs, Chicken, Turkey Meat, Canned goods, Shrimp, and I think the most expensive stuff is all the "Gluten Free" foods from our Local HyVee. We try to buy different stuff because I got burnt out on cans of Tuna everyday for lunch and sometimes dinner. It gets old eating the same thing all the time. We don't buy processed food because of all... -

ARCHIVED Gluten Timing And Process? How Long?
MATT1983 replied to MATT1983's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Well I gotta say, Welcome First of all. I know that the test the doctor did had to be above 15, and mine was double, 33, I'm not sure what test he did but I'll try to find out and maybe someone will know what it means. I'm sorry to hear that your having issues and that your test have been negative. I do hope they find something. My doctor wouldn't do the... -

ARCHIVED Gluten Timing And Process? How Long?
MATT1983 replied to MATT1983's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I appreciate that. I'll try either one at this point. I have to say that I really hate that there is no cure. And on top of that, all the food for Gluten, Dairy free people is Expensive. My wife and I spend probably around 800 dollars a month for groceries, and about 600 is just my food. I'm not sure why, but even when I'm eating gluten and dairy free, I... -

ARCHIVED Gluten Timing And Process? How Long?
MATT1983 replied to MATT1983's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
So, It finally hit today. It has been Horrible and all the celiac disease symptoms are finally taking its course. Yesterday, I had the achy feelings and my arthritis started to settle in. Today, Felt so Exhausted and barely able to stay awake. I finally ate dinner and as soon as we got home, my stomach blew up like a balloon and the rest of the nasty stuff... -
Okay, so I had been at work all day, literally, and didn't have time to stop and eat. We had a banquet to set up for and then work at it. They ordered pizza for all the workers and the banquet had a meal catered in. Like i said, didn't have time to eat and I was starting to get the shakes really bad. So, I ate some of the pizza. I know, major mistake. I've...

Sorry it took so long to answer back. I'm glad to know that I'm not going threw something else. I've had similar symptoms but nothing like what had happened. And thank you, I'm starting to feel better. But still getting it out of my system. I also found out today from my Doctor that my blood work came back and I have For-sure, Celiac. He said that my number...

I have been on the diet now for about a year now. But, like I said before it's not completely out because of not knowing that I had a gluten or dairy products or cross contamination. And drinks won't be a problem cause we don't drink alcohol. No i didn't check her makeup cause it's all Mary Kay and didn't even think that could do anything, never thought of...

Thanks So much. I'll try looking at our local wine places. And I'll try talking to management too. I just hate to be the guy who ask to much or end up with someone spitting in my food... lol... but seriously. I guess I feel bad for the restaurant people whenever we go out. But, I guess I shouldn't seeing how they don't have to feel what I feel. I do appreciate...

You don't sound harsh at all. I agree with what your saying. I'm sorry, I should've been a little more clearer. My Wife does care about where we eat. Sometimes we try a new place and that gives me the cross-contamination that makes me sick. She is always worried about my health and very cautious about where we eat and what we eat. Without her, I would have...

MATT1983 replied to MATT1983's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yeah, I have a lot of protein in my diet now. I have three eggs every morning, left overs from the night before for lunch, and a couple of pieces of chicken at night, or something else we make that is homemade. I know that sweets are bad for me though and i could stand to lose a little more weight. lol. And my dairy issue is pretty extreme along with the... -
I didn't even think about cooking it in foil. And I know what your saying about telling the cook. My Grandfather owned a restaurant and I used to help cook. And whenever we got compliments it made our day and we remembered them and always took care of them because they kept coming back. To answer the other question, My mom use to get it straight from...

Sadly enough, I cannot have dairy at all. I have been Dairy Intolerant my entire life. Whenever I was born i couldn't have formula, so my mom put me on goats milk and apparently that did okay for me. So, no dairy for me. I have tried and it since going gluten free and it still gives me horrible gas and major diarrhea, so I stay clear of it. And sadly enough...

MATT1983 replied to MATT1983's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
No, my sugars are all fine. I just love sweets. But, I don't have to worry about that anymore. My doctor just said that my bad cholesterol was just a little high and sad to cut out fatty foods. And i know that sweets make bad fat. So, cutting out that bad stuff. I did eat sweets to keep my weight up casue if I don't then my bodyweight just starts to drop... -

LOL... I know that they have changed the ingreadents then. They used to make it without all the milk. I think it was like a sugar alcohol and coco or something like that. I was just checking to see if someone might know if it was still dairy free. Thank You for the quick response. I've been trying to find something sweet that's not so Expensive but looks... -
