About Me

I am 25 year old female from Northwest Indiana. Diagnosed with Celiac in January of 2010. Trying to stay gluten-free although its not easy! I have a 5 year old son and a 2 year old daughter. I am also a full time college student majoring in Criminal Justice, hoping to go to law school one day. Happily married for 4 years now and just looking for fellow Celiac friends who are going through the same stuff as I am!

  1. Thanks everyone! I really think something is going on with him and I do want to get him tested. Sometimes as a parent you dont want to be too overbearing or be a worry wart that something is wrong when it may not be, but even today when I picked him up from school his teacher told me he had severe diarrhea after lunch (which was macaroni and cheese). I'm...
  2. I had the same issues that your having, and it turns out I do have celiac, but I also have other food allergies. I had a blood work up done that showed I saw allergic to sunflower oil, cayne pepper, and anchoives really really severely. I'm also allergic or "intolerant" to like 40 other things, but those were the big 3 besides gluten. It took awhile before...
  3. I'm wondering if there are any other parents out there with this problem. I have Celiac, and in the last month or so I have noticed my son is complaining of stomach pain and diarrhea, bad gas, and general discomfort. I notice it gets worse after eating things like bread, pancakes, pizza...things with wheat in them. I mentioned this to his Pediatrician and...
  4. I was having a lot of the symptoms your describing...mine ended up being a massive yeast infection in my digestive tract (Candida) after a month of diflucan I felt much better and my joint pain was gone. I know you are seeing a Rhuemotologist, but doing an all natural yeast cleansing couldn't hurt at this point. You can pick them up at your local natural...
  5. YOu need to be careful with yeast infections. A accidental "glutenning" can cause Candida, which may actually be contributing to your Fibromyalgia symptoms. When I accidently eat gluten I feel sick, but it can get worse and worse after a few days. I stopp gluten over a year ago and still wasnt feeling well at all. I was dizzy, short of breath, dsevere stomach...
  6. So I was just wondering about something. I am currently being treated for a severe yeast infection of my gut. I am on 100mg of Diflucan once daily, and I'm about 2/3 of the way done with it. My anxiety was pretty high before I started the diflucan. I have experianced some pretty bad die-off and my anxiety levels that were better seem to have come back.n Definitely...
  7. The exact same thing happened to me and it delayed my diagnosis by months. Celiac does not discriminate against height, weight, age, sex, race, or lifestyle. That doctor is an idiot and even if you do the endoscopy and it comes back positive he wont know how to help you since he obviously knows nothing about celiac disease. Go to the Doctor section of the...
  8. First off I am so sorry this is happening to you. I have been there and back, so I know how hard it is. Before the celiac diagnosis I was having severe anxiety, they put me on lexapro and let me tell you the worst 4 days of my life. I got this symptom most people refer to as "brain zaps" where you feel like you are seriously being struck by lighting in the...
  9. No problem...Kelly Oni is sort of an all inclusive...she helped me with my OBGYN stuff (I have severe endomotriosis) as well as testing for Hashimooto's(results were NEG) and she gave me lists of food I could eat and what supplements would help. My test results didnt say anything about high eosinophilis numbers, but I would have to double check. I was just...
  10. Thanks everyone for the suggestions I really appreciate it! My doc said it was just a severe fungal infection and I'm about 11 days into a 1 month treatment of Diflucan...I also did the MetaMetrix stool profile test and thats how I found out what had been making me sick for over 6 months...the "die off" seems to be a little bit better. I had a 3 day migraine...
  11. Okay, after about 6 months of unidentified symptoms and countless trips to the Doctor, I have finally got an answer... I have been gluten free for 7 months now, diagnosed with celiac for a year...After a bunch of tests/er visits/ CT Scans/ pain/etc....my one DOc actually did a stool test which showed I have a massive fungal infection in my digestive...
  12. Well after several visits to several totally clueless doctors, I think i may have an answer. It turns out I have a massive Fungal infection in my gut and my doc told me that that kind of severe yeast infection in the body can cause severe anxiety, due to the endotoxins being released as the fungi die...apparently its called the "die off effect". Now my doc...
  13. Thank you so much for this information. I myself am 25 years old and I am in desperate need of a decent doc. My HUsband just got a new job, so our insurance is pretty good right now and I would like to get this all taken care of. I do see one doctor who is just wonderful. Her name is Kelli Onie. She actually tested and found my celieac disease after 2 years...

ARCHIVED Is It In My Head?

Dont give up! That is exactly what happened to me after the birth of my Daughter in July 2008. I was not recovering well, feeling sick and dizzy all the time. I couldnt concentrate and my health declined quickly. They told me IBS, Fibromylagia, Post partum depression, but my body just got worse the more I took the drugs they were prescribing me. Finally I...
  15. I was just wondering if anyone knew a good Doctor or treatment facility. I have had continual stomach problems and no one is managing my celiac disease. My stomach doctor asked me how to spell celiac the other day, and then when I told him I was worried about how damaged my Villi are and he said he was not familiar with the terms I was using. Ummm...what...
