  1. Hahaha my bad I should have done a background story!! So I've been gluten free for 10 months. I had a blood test done which "diagnosed" my coeliac, but after talking with another doctor he strongly suggested I go back on gluten to get an endoscopy, because I'm only 17. And I agree.. I don't want to be going through my life thinking "what if" you know?
  2. So I'm getting an endoscopy late January early February so I'm back on gluten! I just ate some Indian Naan bread.. and it's only been an hour and I'm already getting pains.. Oh dear Does anyone have any tips about how I can make myself feel better while I'm eating gluten? Thanks!
  3. So, I've been eating original rice crackers by the brand fantastic. The incredients has in it, soy sauce powder [contains soy, hydrolysed wheat (gluten free)]. How can something that contains wheat be gluten free?
  4. I'M COMPLAINING! This has outraged me.. ohhh my goodness! IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY. They wouldn't make a joke if someone who was allergic to peanuts asked for something without peanuts in it, would they? Coeliac disease is JUST as life threatening in the long term if not treated
  5. Age diagnosed - Almost 17. Period of time gluten-free - 10 months Estimated % of Full Recovery - 20% Hahaha. my symptoms keep coming and going
  6. Oh you poor thing Thankyou for that though, I'll definately keep this in mind. I'm pretty sure I do have coeliac because I've had mishaps before (like having a hot chocolate at a cafe and not checking for gluten..) and I get pains and D from that.. so.. fingers crossed!
  7. Really? My doctor said 4 weeks.. So should I start in november? I have my major school exams coming up (I'm in year 12 so these are my last exams ever, the huuuge ones) and they finish on the 16th of November, my plan was to start eating gluten then..
  8. I actually had accepted it, but then I had all these weird symptoms coming back.. and I know that if I never get the biopsy done I'll always be thinking "what if?" Ahhh I so don't want it done!!
  9. So, I was diagnosed with coeliac disease through the blood test, my crappy doctor didn't tell me to stay eating gluten to confirm the diagnosis with an endoscopy, and by the time I found out that I should have kept eating gluten, it had been 6 months, and I wasn't looking to get one. My symptoms had gone and that was enough for me. Fast forward to August...
  10. My mum and I were told by my old doctor (he has now retired) that if the test came back positive, he would call us. He didn't call us, but something in my gut instinct(haha) told me it was coeliac, after researching about it online. I called and made an appointment, and when we got there, he just blurts out of nowhere and goes "You have coeliac disease...
  11. Thanks! I'll give that a go, I hope it isn't dairy though
  12. Thanks! Yeah I got tested for EVERYTHING and its all fine
  13. So, I've been gluten free for almost 9 months now. I follow it very strictly, but as of two ish months ago, I've been having HORRIBLE stomach pains, they're different to the pains I get when I have accidently eaten gluten. These are sharp stabbing pains, and as of two days ago I've been having the big D, stomach pains, fatigue, you name it. I've had an...
  14. Thanks so much for posting this! I'll have to go there and check it out
  15. So I've been gluten free for almost 8 months, and my symptoms (stomach pains, Diarrhea, etc) went away. Around 3 weeks ago they started to come back, and as of 2 days ago, there has been bright red blood in my stool, partnered with horrible sharp pains in my stomach. I'm going to a nutritionist in a few weeks because my mum rang the Coeliac Society and they...
  16. I really hope I'm not able to eat anything else other than gluten I wont be able to cope haha
  17. I'm 17.. But I live in Australia
  18. I called The Coeliac Society, which is Australian. I was telling them how I am CONSTANTLY getting the symptoms coming back that I had before I was diagnosed, except they are 10 times worse. The lady was lovely and she suggested that I see a dietician and do an elimination diet. It just got me wondering, what are you guys unable to eat along with gluten...
  19. I'll makr sure I do. Thankyou
  20. Thankyou SO SO SO much for this!!! I thought and was told it was up to the board of studies!! I'm in new south wales. ahh thankyou so so much. mind is at ease!!!
  21. My principal knows the reasoning behind it, but it's further up the ladder, the Board of Studies is like the whole education system. So it's out of my school's control
  22. So, I'm currently in year 12, and before I was diagnosed with coeliac disease, and after, and still now, when I get glutened, I'm on the toilet all day and not to mention the body aches and horrible stomach pains. It stops me from going to school. I've been warned by the board of studies and my principal that I will be expelled if I have too much more time...
  23. Oh no How do I prevent it? Get him to use mouthwash / brush his teeth?
  24. I don't know if this is a stupid question or not, but I just wanted to ask to get everyone's opinion! If my boyfriend has had lunch before he comes over, and say for example he had a burger or a sandwich, or even eating it next to me, and we then kiss after it or later on, would I get glutened from it? I feel silly asking but I just want to know because...
  25. I get HORRIFIC abdominal pain and cramps. When I have first been glutened, I have the 'Big D' for around 1 or 2 days, and it then turns into constipation.
