    ARCHIVED Depression

Ya know, at one point I was taking 3 Prozac a day, valium and trazadone. Plus a host of other meds for neuropathy, fybromialgia, arthritis and tremors! Depression is under control, no more meds! I have mild depression right now but I am a 45 year old daddy's girl and my daddy is dying, so I think I am entitled to it! I believe that taking control of...
  2. Gluten-freeinfoweb seems to be a good sight. I have it bookmarked. I also bought the Clan-Thompson Smart List. I have so much info now, that sometimes my brain hurts!!!! J/K I also have milk, egg and yeast allergies so I have done many searches on the web to find out as much as I can about food allergies and labeling on food products. The Net has a...
  3. I am new to all of this so please excuse me for not answering all of your questions. I simply don't have the answers. What I do know is that you need to read everything you can get your hands on. As far as onset of symptoms, I am 45 and was recently diagnosed. Symptoms do vary! I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in the early 80's. I have had osteoarthritis...
  4. I am going back to the info that celiac3270 posted about the book by Jax and off the dishwasher talk (sorry) Thank you celiac3270. I just recommended this book elsewhere and oh, my gosh! I feel so terrible! I just loved her writing style and chose to ignore the inacurracies! I now realize after reading your posting and also the comments at Amazon,...
  5. Thank you Tiffany! I just went to another posting area where celiac3270 talked about the book and Oh my gosh, I feel terrible for suggesting this book. I loved the way Jax wrote and even though I had read the things that you and celiac3270 both mentioned, I chose to disregard them and enjoy the rest of the book. I never thought about the fact that this...
  6. I just received The Gluten-Free Bible by Jax Peters Lowell from my daughter as a gift for my birthday. Love it!!!! My brother and sis-in-law were visiting and couldn't keep their hands off! I believe this is a new book that just came out this year. Jax Peters Lowell has also written a couple of other books for gluten-free living.
  7. I was happy to see that I am not the only one with questions about these tests!!! I posted yesterday with questions and although I still don't have answers about these tests, I am soooooooooooooo thankful for the sweet responses that I received! I was already eating pretty much gluten free before my tests (didn't know I needed to be eating gluten!) Anyway...
  8. Thanks for your replies. I am a mom and probably need to be in re-hab for being a "chronic fixer"! I know I can't change how my daughter feels> She just gets under my skin and is able to push my buttons and then I get confused and don't know quite how to respond to her comments. Don't get me wrong, she's a wonderful daughter! I am so proud of her...
  9. Thanks, Katie! Yes, that's what my daughter thinks. Her blood tests show elevated levels as well but her GP and a specialist have told her the #'s mean nothing! It's just that I have 3 other children with elevated #'s and am trying to help them, as well. Two of those children are still teens and living at home. I know from all the postings that I have...
  10. I am new to this posting stuff! Maybe I am doing it all wrong. I thought I posted a reply but lost it! Anyway, I think I confused the situation. It is my daughter who is armed with ALL the knowledge(!) She thinks my doctor is wrong. 3 of my five children have #'s on their blood tests higher than mine. My husbands #'s also came back showing similar...
  11. O.K. Here it goes. I thought I was diagnosed with celiac disease in Feb. I have been gluten free since then. I had blood tests done. My results were....IgA 14, IgG 41 and IgA 2. I am 45 and have had fibromyalgia for years, osteo-arthritis most of my life, so many gastro-intestinal problems that I won't list them, Started having what the doctors thought...
