  1. If you have a corn allergy does that mean you cant have anything with corn in it? I thought I heard somewhere that some people can tolerate certain types of corn in certain cases.
  2. Thanks for the comments! I think I am going to cut corn out until I visit the allergist on Jan 13 and then hopefully I can get some kind of answers. I hope that it isnt corn because corn is in everything:(
  3. Hey everyone! So Ive been gluten-free for a while now but starting Dec 1 I went on a very strict elimination diet. Around Dec 20 I broke and made some gluten-free cookies and seemed to be fine. Multiple days later I wasnt feeling quite as good(nothing crazy just felt mentally not quite as good. On Dec 26 I reintroduced corn into my diet(honey nut chex...
  4. This isnt related to interviewing but still on the subject of brain fog. Does anyone feel like they have difficulty making a solid opinion? For example I watch movies and tv shows and after they are over I have trouble determining/remembering if I liked it or not.. seems like most things I just chalk up to being ok because my brain just doesnt function...
  5. Thanks for the comments! AVR- I too was much worse off before gluten so I definately couldnt handle having any interiews at the time . I was forced to talk like I was a child because I could not think at all. I have been gluten free since this May and got a little better very slowly. In july I cut out soy and dairy and most corn, and also started taking...
  6. So I had an interview today with the typical brain fog. I got through it but to be honest there were a few times I felt like I almost lost it. My head goes so blank and I also got a few sensations where it felt like my brain was giving up. Dont think its natural anxiety bc I didnt have this problem until the last few years. Anybody have similar experiences...
  7. I wondered if it was the anesthesia but I had an endoscopy 3 weeks before that and felt fine afterwards. I also wondered if the colonoscopy prep could have done it but its weird to me that the depression didnt come until almost a week after? Thats why I think it could possibly be the thyroid medication or maybe a combination of the two.
  8. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and have symptoms that could be either from hypo or celiac. I believe it is celiac because I am not overweight and not yet hypo(my labs are normal). Heres what happened: I was having terrible symptoms both physically and mentally and all the doctors said that I was crazy until I finally(after 7 months) got the endo to...
  9. This is a shot in the dark but does anyone think it could be mono? Ive been so tired lately and cant shake it!
  10. I have had all the thyroid tests done. TSH last time was 2.2 and FT3 and FT4 were in the normal range. Like I said the first time I took the thyroid medication I started an elimination diet at the same time. About a month later I began to feel noticably better so I figured it was either the diet or medication(obviously). I then went off the medication...
  11. Thanks Takala! Im thinking that the thyroid antibodies are more so from the celiac. I havent been formally diagnosed with celiac and I have been diagnosed with Hashimotos. That being said the doctor diagnosed me from APO antibodies(200) only. I have no goiters or nodules...my thyroid is not swollen...I am certainly not overweight(actually need to gain...
  12. I do have thyroid antibodies. Last time I checked my thyroid peroxidase antibodies were 250. Back in July I started taking the thyroid medication and started and elimination diet at the same time. After about a month I actually started feeling semi-normal for the first time in a long time. Then a couple days after a colonoscopy things got extremely bad...
  13. Yes this is very similar to my symptoms. I was so anxious and having "panic attacks" along with depression. I literally was thinking about the possiblity of being insane or being possessed by demons I was so off. Once I went of the gluten things started to balance out. Im still struggling with recovery but you just have to stay strong and be patient!
  14. So Ive been gluten free since May and had my ups and downs. Lately ive been extremely tired? 11 days ago I started an elimination diet and 4 days ago I stopped taking my thyroid medication(doctor determined I didnt need it as I have normal levels and was exploring that option) To be clear I was extremely tired a couple weeks before stopping the thyroid...
  15. I would agree with giving it more time. I self diagnosed myself with celiac and I think I may have had it most of my life because of my delayed growth. I was always one of the smallest kids in my grade. I didnt hit 5 foot until 9th grade and didnt really have my growth spurt until junior year. Im 23 now and I cant even grow facial hair lol. Id say give...
  16. Twe0708 I was on thyroid medication a couple times. I was on it in july-aug and started to feel better but I had also cut out dairy and soy at the same time. I ended up stopping because I suddenly became very depressed for some reason so I stopped. After not feeling great off of the medication for a month I got back on the thyroid medication(50mcg levothyroxine...
  17. My B12 was 200 before going gluten free in May of this year. I have been taking 2000 units of B12 a day since then and now my B12 level just came back at 1500. Could this high of a level be bad?
  18. Hey everyone I have been diagnosed with Hashimotos and suspect that I have Celiac as well. I was diagnosed with Hashis just with positive antibodys alone(APO-250_. My thyroid function is normal and I have read that just the presence of antibodies doesnt neccessarily mean Hashimotos. So my question is this: Could it be Celiac disease that caused the antibodies...
  19. Hey skylark I dont believe I was eating alot of starches before. I was pretty much depending on my mother to cook my meals and having alot of "gluten free" processed foods that I didnt double check to see if they were safe or not. I was having alot of "enjoy life" cookies and sugary candies so maybe im having withdrawls from sugar?
  20. Well the last week on the elimination diet I have made sure that I havent had any gluten. Im thinking the "withdrawl symptoms" could be from having CC issues the last few months? Either that or possibly another food allergy like corn, egg or something?
  21. Im basically having chicken and vegetables and fruit. I have been gluten free for a while but suspect that I may have been getting little bits of gluten here and there becasue I was not making any progress.
  22. How long do the withdrawl symptoms usually last?
  23. I went gluten free back in may and cut out soy and dairy since august but seem to have taken a few steps back for some reason. So im trying an elimination diet and this is day 6. Is it typical to have your mental symptoms(depression/brain fog/anxiety) get worse before getting better?
  24. I believe the range for the vitamin D was 30-90. I was never given the range for the B12 but I believe the ranges I saw on the internet were around 400-800. My doctor says he wants it to be at least 400 so ill see later today what the test results are.
  25. I just started taking probiotics and wanted to know what brands everyone uses. I have DuraFlora...it says it is gluten/dairy/soy free so Im trusting that it is. Is there usually much risk with CC for things like this? Also my stomach seems to be a bit irritated and its only been 20 mins since taking them. Is this a sign of a possible glutening or is...
