  1. Thanks for the feedback! I have had my vitamin B12 and D checked. vitamin B12 was 200 and vitamin D was 30. I have been taking sublingual vitamin B12(2000 per day) and around 3000 D a day(Since may). I havent been taking probiotics though...I will try and start taking those ASAP. Any suggestions for a good probiotic brand?
  2. Hey Irishheart...I know I sound crazy going on and off the thyroid medication but here is whats happened. In May I was diagnosed with Hashimotos disease with an APO count of 200. My TSH and FT3 and FT4 have all been in the "normal" ranges and the Endo said here is a prescription for hashis but I doubt it will help any of your symptoms so I did not take...
  3. Thanks everyone! My mom does a good job at preparing foods and tryin not to CC but there were probably plenty of times that I was too exhausted and ate food that I probably shouldnt have(nuts from health food stores, spices, etc.) When I first started I wouldnt eat anything unless I checked online and made sure it was ok...I gave that up for a while because...
  4. Alright so here is my diet and medication history: I started gluten free in May of this year. I seemed to be improving slowly with physical symptoms but not too much with mental symptoms. I wasnt having panic attacks or deep depression anymore so I was making progress. In early July my gluten-free broke up with me so I was desperate to get better. ...
  5. I went gluten free in May of this year and before that I had major depression/anxiety/brain fog. I had many other symptoms but those seemed to settle down after going gluten free. The mental symptoms have gotten a bit better but I still feel far from normal. Anyone have similar mental symptoms and how long did it take for those symptoms to go away?
  6. Does all Brewers Yeast have gluten? I just bought this protein(garden of life raw protein) that said gluten/soy/dairy free. I thought it was giving me a reaction so I stopped taking it. Then sure enough I see that it has brewers yeast....dont know how they can call it gluten free then?
  7. It seems like not too many people use this protein lol....Anybody have suggestions for protein that is gluten/dairy/soy free?
  8. Hey everyone! Ive been looking forever for a gluten/dairy/soy free protein powder to help me put on some weight. I found Garden of Life Raw Protein and it says that it is free of gluten/dairy/and soy. The last few days after taking it I have had terrible gas and some bloating(my normal gluten symptoms). Im not sure if I was accidentally glutened by something...
  9. Thanks gfcolorado! I have had my vit d checked. It was 30 the first time then I started taking vitamin D and last time it was 50 i think. Ive had my TSH tested many times and it was at 2.2 in september. I was just on the levothyroxine 50mcg for 5 weeks but was feeling very anxious and uncomfortable so the doctor advvised me to stop. This was the 2nd...
  10. Hey everyone sorry in advance since this will be long. I have been gluten free for 6 months now and still not feeling great and I dont know what else could be causing all these symptoms. So heres my story from the beginning. Im 23 and male. I started noticing little things my junior/senior year of college that i looked past such as: fatigue, irritability...
  11. I switched to neutragena blackhead eliminating scrub from neutragena power-clear scrub. They are both supposed to be gluten free but I definately stopped using the blackhead eliminating wash. I stopped taking the thyroid medication as well and I think that is the cause because I am on the fence whether I need to take it anyways since my TSH is at around...
  12. It just takes time. I completely understand your frustration. I was unable to use the bathroom for 5 months and it wasnt until about 2 weeks gluten free that I was able to slowly but surely use the bathroom again. I have been gluten free for 4 months now and soy and dairy free for 1 month. I still struggle with constipation but I got so used to not going...
  13. Yea I was put under for the colonoscopy but the depression didnt really start until 5 days later. Im starting to suspect that it could be the thyroid medication I am on(levothyroxine 50 mg). I began taking it 6 weeks ago and have read that it usually takes 4-6 weeks to kick in. I know this is the opposite result I should expect with this medication but...
  14. Hey Everybody! I have recently become very depressed(for no reason) after starting to feel much better being gluten free for 4 months. I havent felt like this since going gluten free and when I went to the doctor today he didnt have any clue what it could be from. I have tryed to think of what could be causing this and the only thing I can think of is...
  15. Thanks for your response AVR! I cant think of why it would have happened but I guess maybe it was gluten. Ive been pretty depressed for 2 days and still not feeling well. How long do your symptoms usually last when coming in contact with gluten?
  16. Hey guys I know that this topic was discussed a few pages back but I feel awful and want to know why!!! Ive been taking thyroid medication(50mcg) for about a month and a half now and just started taking magnesium like 3 days ago. I probably took the magnesium around 2-3 hours after the thyroid medication. I didnt take the magnesium today but yesterday...
  17. I am also on thyroid medication and just recently started to take magnesium. I probably took the magnesium 2-3 hours after the thyroid meds but only took the magnesium for 2 days because ive become very depressed. Could this be due to the magnesium?
  18. Hey everyone! I went gluten free in May and have started to feel much better until about a week ago. I understand the good and bad days but my last few days have brought me back to the depression I had when I didnt know what was going on. Im not sure if it from CC or corn possibly but its really frustrating. I did have a colonoscopy a week ago and thought...
  19. Good to hear your doing well! I too went gluten free at the beginning of May and was starting to feel much better until just recently. The setbacks are tough but youve just gotta stay postive!
  20. Could it just be the up and downs of recovery? I was getting better with fewer symptoms and felt pretty normal for a bit...now I seem to be in a more depressed mood than Ive been in in a long while which leads me to believe I must have had some source of food that I cant tolerate. Does anyone have input on their recovery and if you had random setbacks that...
  21. Hey everybody! I was diagnosed with Hashimotos disease a while back and started a gluten free diet which helped so much.(it has been a long slow process) The Hashimotos is in the very early stages and I am not yet hypothyroid so I figure that I also have celiac disease(ive been tested but bloodwork was done when 2 weeks gluten free and biopsy done 3 months...
  22. The reason I think my hashimotos is in the early stages is because of all the blood tests. Last november until this april I had 3 tsh tests two of which were at 1.9 and the other at 5.5. The most recent tsh test was a 3.2 so that doesnt seem too crazy. My TPO antibodies were 203 in April and 252 in July. This is the one thing that confused me(made me...
  23. Hey everyone im new here...Im 23 and was recently diagnosed with hashimotos disease. I immediately went on a gluten free diet and felt better after a couple of weeks but seemed to kind of platuea in my recovery. My thyroid problem is in the very early stages so Im thinking that the problem may lie somewhere else. Im starting to think that I do have celiac...
