  1. I think you should look into helicobacter pylori. It is spread very easily from person to person in a family and causes stomach problems. It also is the #1 cause of stomach ulcers, like your moms. It is treated with 3 rounds of antibiotics.
  2. I am trying to figure out whether I need to try to get a biopsy or not. I am sure it would be ideal to do it, but it is expensive. Here are my results. Do you think you can conclude a positive celiac diagnosis from these results alone. Also, what are the benefits of a positive biopsy??? Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA 31 High Deamidated Gliadin Abs...
  3. Thank you so much for the information. I am surprised that my Dr. didn't even call. I actually was doing the testing for my 3 year old (for the genetic component, but I am not surprised that I have it as well. I have had health issues my whole life and have toyed with a gluten free diet for the last year because of my daughter. I think I am just overwhelmed...
  4. So you feel like these results indicate "celiac"?
  5. Here are the results I got today from the Dr. Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA 31 High Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IfG 16 Negative t-Transluaminase (tTG) IgA 4 High t-Translutaminase (tTG) IgG 5 Negative Endomysial Antibody IgA Immunoglobin A, Qn, Serum 167 Negative Positive for DQ2 and homozygous for DQB1*02. Please help me figure out...
  6. I live in fort worth, tx and am trying to find a dr who treats celiac in our area. Does anyone know of any? If we have to drive to Dallas, that would be fine as well but fort worth is obviously my first choice
  7. I am curious if any of you have noticed you have more symptoms the longer you stay gluten free? The longest I have gone so far is 2 weeks and then when I got back on gluten, I instantly was so itchy and lethargic! I also would feel like I was getting hives. Most of my symptoms in the past have been gi and sinus infections. The longer I am off gluten,...
  8. I am getting tested for celiac (blood test) in about a week. I really want the results to come out accurate and need help for those of you who have already gone through this. I have been off gluten (on and off) for the last several months and for the last week or two have tried to load up on gluten (which is miserable!) I am only doing this test once and...
  9. I am glad to know I am not the only one that feels angry. I am lucky that I am young, and lucky I am aware for my children who I also believe have celiac. I just feel this disease can ruin lives and wish drs would make a better effort to diagnose this disease!
  10. I am so sorry you have dealt with this. I believe I had undiagnosed celiac during both of my pregnancies. With my oldest, I had IUGR and she was born weighing 5 lbs 2 oz. At 39 weeks. I have heard IUGR is common with Celiac, and I don't know a lot about CP. I just hope drs start working harder to understand this, because that is their job. Most drs don...
  11. I am not sure if anyone else has felt like this, but has anyone just been flat out ANGRY once they realized their struggles their whole life are probably due to celiac??? I went to the pediatrican monthly growing up (not an exaggeration) for sinus infections, drs told my mom they thought I waas depressed. My mom said that when I was young, I constantly...
  12. My daughter is almost 3 and she had the blood test done for Celiac recently. She really is a drama queen, so I dreaded taking her but it went perfectly! The nurse could not believe how well she did. The test did come out negative, but I recently went to an MD who practices integrative medicine who told me it takes about 10 years of celiac to get a positive...
