  1. I have designated a cabinet for my gluten-free stuff. Just the sink can come into cross contamination...I'm working on it! As for food I have been trying to go more basic with whole foods...It is very hard with student teaching and working 4 times a week! So far this week the non-whole food items I bought were waffles, fries/hash browns (potatoes were the...
  2. I can relate to a lot of what you are going through. I am on week 4 of gluten free (week 2 was BAD, I ate lots of processed gluten-free foods and I'm not use to processed so my stomach and intestines were waaayyyy off track). I THINK I am feeling better, bloating is no longer my biggest complaint as it was in the past, but I still get bloated. I feel so...
  3. Thank you for your response. This message board makes me feel comfort in the fact that others are going through similar experiences (misery loves company!) LoL My biopsy came back negative for celiac (even with the flat villi!) I am going to look int toiletries this weekend, I finally am getting the food down pat and keeping all my gluten free bowls, utensils...
  4. I have been gluten-free for 3 weeks and am becoming discouraged and wondering if despite my hope for an answer and high blood test and flattening villi, gluten-free is not the answer to my problems. I still get some bloating (not as bad as it had been in months past) and have been having lots of pressure and uncomfortableness in the lower abdominal region...
  5. 6 samples from the duodenum, 3 from the gastric biopsy, and four of the esophagus. I have not talked to the Doctor that did the procedure. His hours were very limited as were mine bc I was working three jobs. I followed up with the NP bc of time restraints. I had all of my records released to the new gastro so when I see him in two weeks or so I...
  6. Thank you for your advice I struggle with eating fresh whole foods because of my schedule. I didn't plan too well this week and was out of town last weekend (how difficult!) so I have been relying on frozen gluten-free entrees as the main course of my meals. I plan to do some baking/planning/crockpot recipe searching so I can eat more whole foods next...
  7. The doctor told me after the procedure (and I have verified with my bf on numerous occasions bc he was there and I wanted to be sure that I wasn't misinterpreting anything) that there was some flattening of the villi and it was patchy. He gave me a packet on celiac disease as I was leaving the office. Naturally, I assume I have celiac until I get a phone...
  8. This was actually not true in my case. I was given an endoscopy because of positive blood work (IGA I believe...not 100% sure bc the doctor didn't explain anything to me...) and the endoscopy showed some flattened villi, biopsies done on the intestine (again for what IDK) and they said they were negative. I have changed Drs in the meantime and and attempting...
  9. Agreed! I have had C for as long as I can remember! It is painful and uncomfortable and I'm sure everyone understands where I am coming from! I have been gluten free for a week and still take mirolax...I feel like it makes me go but I don't feel like it's productive (still bloated and feel like I have to go afterwards). Anyone else get this?
  10. Hi all! I have been gluten-free for about a week now...still experiencing some bloating and C. I think the bloating is getting better though, my dr said it could take a while before I started noticing results and improvements so I was just curious when did you all start to feel better? What was the first time to improve? And I have heard a few people...
  11. I wish I had an answer to this myself. I have been gluten-free for 2 full days now (working on day 3) and I'm just so nervous that this won't be the answer and I won't figure out what is causing my issues. I use to be just like you, great in the am and then increase in the pm. For a while it eventually started in the morning and I didn't have any part...
  12. Awesome! I am trying to figure out if my allergy medications and acid reducer are gluten free!
  13. I have been reading a lot on gluten and going gluten free and have seen a few articles posted about having designated cookware, toasters, counter space, etc. As someone who is just starting out gluten-free as an elimination diet is this needed? Will I not be able to tell if the gluten is bothering me if I use the same cookware as my roommate who eats gluten...
  14. I'm trying to get situated for the grocery store now...planning out my meals and such so I know what I can have. How are you feeling now---How many days has it been?
  15. Thanks for your support! I plan to start next monday so will be searching for recipes and checking out the gluten-free section in my grocery store...any suggestions?
