  1. The GI dr. called me today with the results of the rest of the bloodwork. Came back negative. I just re-read my post about the Dr. being a pill. It was actually her nurse. I never spoke again to the Dr. (who is female), only her nurse evil. I had several sort of arguements with nurse evil over the bloodwork and the endoscopy. The nurse kept giving...
  2. I didn't have the scope done because of the bloodwork and my "symptoms." The idiot Dr. that I went to -- well, I wasn't comfortable with her. Too pushy and I didn't get a good feeling with her. She refused to talk with me and treated me like I was real stupid. They were very nice as long as I agreed and did what they told me. Once I started to ask questions...
  3. Haven't been near the board lately - we just got back from vacation. Vacation went well. I was kind of nauseaus a few days but I know it was from anxiety. I don't travel well because of a phobia (emetophobia). Right before I left I had the GI Dr. do a blood test (EMA). They got the results back but since it's a holiday weekend, I won't find out til...
  4. Last week I went in for some bloodtests -- I'm still waiting for the results of the Endomysial one. IgA came back positive. TtG came back negative. Symptoms were, gas buildup only in the evenings. Loose stool every once in a while. No diarrhea. Low grade nausea. The GI dr. I went to is a real winner (meaning... NOT). Long story but as soon as I...
  5. Is the only T-cells the tTG? What about the anti-Gliadins -- IgA and IgG?
  6. I'm trying to understand the antibody thing. Does this mean antibodies are a good thing or bad? I think I'm having a brain fart! I got up too early this am to take dogs for a hike. Darby

    ARCHIVED Sick!

I can't have cows milk but I'm fine with goats milk. I don't drink glasses of it but I like to have cereal. I don't have any problems with yogurt or ice cream or small amounts of cheese ( like 1 slice). So, it seems I'm having problems with large amounts -- like on a pizza. Darby

    ARCHIVED Sick!

I've only been gluten-free for 2 days now. And I have never had any striking results from gluten. But I'm doing a trial 6 months gluten-free diet because one anti-gliadin came back positive, the most specific came back negative and still waiting on another one. My usual symptoms while on wheat is not that bad. Low grade nausea - nothing real bad or...

    ARCHIVED Sick!

Last night I made a gluten-free pizza (with LOTS of cheese). I didn't have that much - maybe one medium piece. About 20 minutes later, I"m in the bathroom with diarrhea. Only one trip to the bathroom. But I was real nauseaus too. I ended up taking a Compazine for the nausea and I felt fine (went to sleep) about an hour later. What happened to me??...
  10. Is yoplait yogurt ok? I didn't see any bad ingredients - just wanted to check. Darby
  11. Do you have a nice understanding Dr.? Has he pushed you towards a biopsy? This whole procedure of getting a diagnosis -- bloodwork etc. has been a nightmare for me. And the kicker -- it really doesn't need to be. I've been on the edge for the past week. I have only seen the Dr. once and have had to deal with the evil nurse. She's a real "winner". ...
  12. I found this in part of an article: Each of the celiac blood tests available measures the amount of a particular autoantibody in the blood and is available in both an IgG and an IgA version. IgG and IgA are 2 of the five classes of antibody proteins that the immune system creates in response to a perceived threat. While both IgG and IgA types of each...
  13. I've also had acupuncture and it didn't help with anything and I HATED the needles. I've been to different chiropraters who did kinesiology and didn't like them. I've only had two holistic dr.'s that I did like. One in Colorado and the one I have now. He is always going to seminars and clinics to further his knowledge. I don't like the ones who refuse...
  14. Sure, I totally understand your concerns. And I know alot of you will think I'm crazy. I was upfront with my holistic dr. and told him that I've gone to a gastro Dr. and what they did. He had suggested to me before to get an ultrasound done on my gall bladder to rule out stones etc. You really need to find one that does believe in western medicine when...
  15. Sure, I know where you stayed. We are staying in Kihei. Well, today I went into my holistic Dr. and told him what the gastro Dr. said and found. I said that my bloodwork showed up with a sensitivity to wheat. He tested me (holistic dr.) and said, "yup, you're sensitive to wheat all right." So, he did some stuff and desensitized me. Shouldn't...
